if you speak french, just watch "j'irais dormir chez vous", it's the same idea: a sole man in the foreign country. For example, he was in USA, and stubble upon a very strange guy proposing him to follow at his home where "he did something bad" ... and the guy accepted to follow him to his house : Just crazy !!! Or in Bolivia, a woman tried to kidnap him for money, and he was saved by another woman having called the police.

Hey Kurt, I love your videos. Meeting locals, eating local and traveling humbly is the right way to do it. People spend so much money to travel to a resort that shields them from real culture. There no point in that. Keep doing what youre doing. As someone who’s half Mexican, I appreciate your bravery and compassion.

Hard to pinpoint exactly why Kurt’s vids are so interesting. He just walks around and talks about where he's going and what he's doing and how he's feeling in places where most of us have never been. Incidentally, I noticed in quite a few vids like this one that there appears to be very few traffic controls when compared to North American cities. Maybe Kurt Caz’s videos provide a very strong sense of authenticity - a kind of one-man reality adventure in fascinating places. I've not heard him remind people to subscribe or comment once, yet he has a ton of subscribers, looks like. Good for him!

That's why I think the problem is not Cancun, the problem is the attitude of not leaving the bubble and staying only in Cancun because the Hotel is all-inclusive without knowing that they miss out on many wonders leaving the city. there are archaeological sites, cenotes, lagoons, incredible beaches, nature reserves, parks, towns with a lot of culture and others. There is more than just luxury services in Cancun, but only someone with an adventurous soul aspires to know that paradise for real.

I agree with you but I too sometimes travel overseas alone. I venture out like Kurt but unlike Kurt, when I'm in a Spanish speaking country, I don't speak Spanish. It is scary but I find most of the time, people are very friendly. I usually don't travel out at night in poverty stricken neighborhoods just because I certainly stand out (I'm Asian). It's mostly prostitutes who approach me when I'm alone at night. I usually Airbnb places (I haven't stayed in a hotel/resort in about 15 years).

I've been going to Cancun 6 times in the last twenty years. It was wonderful the first 4 times then gradually it became the expensive place that was fun only if you spend lots of money. It can still be fun if you spend 2 thousand dollars a week. But without spending your going to have a really boring stay. You have to take all the tours and go to the water parks and spend on all the activities . Money equals the amount of fun in Cancun. From the submarine rides to walking on the bottom of the water with a dive helmet on.
