After Spending a week in Cusco, I couldn't cope with the altitude sickness anymore so I parted ways with Stephan and I took a flight back to Lima.
From there I took another flight the next day to Iquitos, Peru's Biggest City on the Amazon and the biggest city in the world not reachable by land.
Also home to one of the craziest markets I've ever been to in my life.
Let's Go!
Enjoy!

it's all about what you tell yourself. Simply saying you have social anxiety will just be another time spent confirming and that idea and affirming that as truth. Try spending time every day saying "I am becoming more __________" and fill in with whatever affirmation you want (confident, attractive, positive, appreciative, outgoing, etc.). If you don't keep it up every day and quit after 2 weeks you'll never know the power of doing this that I am talking about that will come a few months in if not earlier. It's well researched stuff. Read "think and grow rich". Cheers mate.

Great stuff Kurt! Fellow South African (Capetonian) here living in Cusco 13 years +, sorry to hear you had issues with the altitude - you could have stayed down in the Sacred Valley to minimise that or come up slowly from Lima to Arequipa then Puno & Cusco to acclimatise. In retrospect you could have travelled to Iquitos from Colombia by boat. 2 to 3 days from Leticia to Iquitos, instead of flying from Colombia to Lima then driving to Cusco & flying back to Lima. You could also have flown from Medellin, Bogota or Cartagena to Iquitos, then on to Lima & your drive to Kiteni etc. & Cusco. But all part of the adventure. The rainforest out of Puerto Maldonado (40mins flight or 9 hours by car from Cusco) is much better for wildlife viewing & wilderness experience to that near Iquitos. Also it is the height of jaguar season now & the Tambopata rainforest is excellent for that, about 35% of our clients see a jaguar during a 4 or 5-day deep rainforest experience & you also get to visit the world's 2 largest macaw & parrot clay licks on the Tambopata River. A nice adventure out of Cusco a well is the Manu rainforest, the Manu road is epic, similar to that road to Kiteni, but with more waterfalls etc. & finished at Atalaya port where it is all boat travel from there. It is dry season now so driving is relatively easy on the mountain roads, but always recommended to go with a group or guide. You would have then finished at Puerto Maldonado after 5 or 6 days & flown out to Lima from there. Out of Iquitos you really need to travel out a long way to see any really wild wildlife that is not acclimatised to humans by feeding etc. Try visit the manatee rescue centre in Iquitos if you are till there. I can recommend Tahuayo or Muyuna Lodge out of Iquitos - you really need to get at least 3 hours away from the city by speedboat for any decent really wild wildlife viewing or truly unspoiled rainforest. Enjoy & take care with unscrupulous rainforest guides or ayahuasca operators, always go in a group for ayahuasca if you decide to do it & only with reputable shamans, especially if you want to hold on to your camera & clothing! Have a great trip further - my first time in Peru was flying from Cape Town via Rio to Lima & Puerto Maldonado (long 12-hour airport stays) back in 1997 then a full 6 months deep in the Amazonian rainforest out of Puerto Maldonado hard graft cutting over 30km of research trails & researching mammals (averaging 10km walking per day) & camping in untouched wild rainforest - a real lifetime experience & something I will never forget. Looking forward to more videos, also would be great if you could do a video on your vlogging equipment etc., like the street-walking style of your vlogs. That juane was huge!

18:12 Arroz Chaufa is Peruvian's version of Chines fried rice. It is influenced by the large amount of Chinese immigrants to Peru. Peru's fried rice version consists of rice, sweet peppers, green onions, onions, garlic, soy sauce, scrambled eggs chicken and a dash of sesame oil, ginger and cumin.
