This is one of their more intense songs - they also have some beautiful, less aggressive songs. Listening to Periphery will make all other music seem boring in comparison. Their live shows are amazing. I'd damn near buy you a ticket so you could experience it lol. Great review dude!

You should check out Haken! They are amazing, more prog rock but their last two albums are heavier than their other stuff.

I can fall asleep listening to metal. I have many times. There have actually been studies showing that metal heads on average have a lower heart rate while listening to their favorite music than people that listen to other genres.

I've gone to every periphery show they've done in NYC since their second album. Every single one of those shows was a totally different show. Their live performances are just as good, if not, better than the studio performances. It's literally the best money I spend, because they're worth it.

Pro tip: the cymbals will almost always be playing a 4/4 in this type of music while the entire rest of the band goes off. If you can find the cymbals you can find the beat.
