VAST was the ONLY Synthesize at the time to feature multiple synth engines and algorithms to emulate synthesizers virtually indistinguishable from the real thing. Now we have the NAUTILUS that has multiple synth engines and the Roland Fantom, Juno X and Jupiter X hat you can load in what synthesizer you want as they get released on Roland Cloud.

Hey there! Back in 2001-2002, I had a 2600. That was my first synth, and I gotta say, it served me well during gigs. Although, I have to admit, it was quite heavy! I remember having some pretty funny struggles with my bandmates trying to haul it up on stage. Good times! ;-)

Actually, since it has Triple Mode Cascades, and you also have KDFX by default inside, it goes way further in the Synthesis and Effects departments than the K2000.

They should be transferable: v3 is mostly about the Sequencer features, V.A.S.T. remains unchanged from v2 to v3. Transfers can be done via either floppy, Hard Drive, or with adapters SD Card or USB Key, or simply via SysEx transfer from a computer.

@@eaglechildkeys I am interested in warm pads currently (those classic pads like in the songs Bee Gees - Heart Like Mine, Ace of Base - Living in Danger, Chris De Burgh - Lady in Red, etc.). I found something close to that in Korg Wavestation vst, also in Roland Cloud JV 1080, and in Omnisphere there are samples from Emulator, and Roland JD series. They also have similar patches to what I need. The Ensoniq TS10 advice that you gave is also interesting, but those sounds already go into slightly brassier direction. That brassy synths trend is all over the place in vst instruments, etc., and I need warmer pads, and that’s where is a problem and lack of that patches: from all the vst instruments altogether you can count patches like in the mentioned songs by fingers of one hand.
