Hats off to Kanan for speaking his heart out against the wrongdoings at the workplace. We need more such guys to speak up to put a dent on the toxic culture prevailing at such workplaces. Thank you Kushal for these podcasts. You're doing really good work.

lol this Kushal is also part of problem. I have been following him since he was a rankholder. There are videos where he talks like huge work hours are okay. Now when Anna died a his videos and podcasts have shifted to toxic work life. Just check it out. He is just monetizing the air. That's all.

Kanan seems like a genuine, mature person who’s honest with his work and as well feelings and can also express it well. If a person like him suffers in an organisation, its culture must really be down the gutter.

I still remember that time during the COVID pandemic when I was in the second year of my articleship. I received a sudden call from home, my mom told me I needed to come back immediately because my father’s health is getting worse. I spoke to my manager for leave, but he didn’t allow it, rather he was trying to convince me that it might just be due to the pandemic and that similar situations were happening to others, no need to worry. I passed this message on to my family, but my older siblings insisted I understand the seriousness of the situation. I then consulted with my seniors in firm, and they advised me that if I continued asking for leave informally, I wouldn’t get it. They suggested me to send a mail directly to the partner and go home. I eventually went home, but by the time I arrived, my father had passed away early the next morning. I didn’t even get to see him one last time.

During a listed client, Being junior i was supposed to take food parcel for the entire team. No one accompanied me. It was summer months that's April end, I was feeling summer stroke badly. They were saying ki Pankaj apna time office general pr book karega where i was doing this thing without any will or enthusiasm. Further on initial client although my plotting was not on any client, on Saturday and Sunday i had arranged a trip with my friends for the first time in a remote area still I had carried my Laptop and its charger there. Friends were laughing but couldn't express them a reality. CA Ana's mistake was that she didn't quit and she was having faith on such dead minded people.

Hey Kushal! Really felt connected throughout the podcast. The way you frame your questions and the honesty Kanan showed, highly appreciable. Well, I am currently in my articleship period and feel the same required change in the organisation especially when the managers are not treating you rightly. I really hope things change and time finally come when articles are respected and no more treated like " bonded labour " because it's the knowledge and urge to learn that matters the most at the end of the day. Looking forward for more relatable videos. Kudos to the hardwork you put in each and every video.

Research Enron collapse. You will understand why audit firms are required to be objective. They should separate consultancy work from audit. Audits should be conducted by government bodies or independent companies with no MOTIVE to make profit. Any profit making venture should be done solely by a firm because it’s gives independent auditors to ensure that even consultancy work is done properly and professionally you’re liable to give proper advice and a way to prevent more tax evasion. When u don’t have a motive to make profit u can spend more time on audits and be thorough. You will end up employing more people giving reasonable salaries and also teach them skills to figure out how to detect fraudulent practices. Think outside the box. See how everything changes in the business world and how magically every accounting firm will work more efficiently now.
@User-x2f3ef4s4fs6g16 сағат бұрын
I don't think audits should be given to governments or NPOs. That alone will drive away youth to other countries where their skills will be paid well. Also government officials usually have a very unprofessional and abusive attitude which will either lead to corruption or drive companies away. This is the norm for now. The firms should make changes that is for sure. But the profit motive should be there. If it weren't the US would have nationalised audit firms already. There are measures also today to remain objective.
@NavnieltaChand8 сағат бұрын
@@User-x2f3ef4s4fs6g profit should be consultancy work but not audits. The purpose of an audit to ensure financial statement accuracy and transparency of the company or entity. In order to achieve this the body responsible for conducting this has to be independent and accountable. It can conducted by a commission like how u have SEC who checks on the stock market independently. There can be a body created solely for the purpose of audits and yes it requires professionalism and adherence to same standards for a CA but the funding is from the taxpayers. You will never be able to eliminate corporate fraud or reduce the income disparity if you don’t have enough resources invested in actually monitoring what is going on in the corporate world on wholistic level from employee well being to company performance to investor protection. Why do you think auditors eventually become CFOs of the same companies they once audited? Everyone knows everyone you will not have independence 😊
