Such an iconic bike! I had a chance to rebuild one of these for the original owner recently, he had no idea of the dollars these bikes command now. Evaporust sure helps to non destructively remove the corrosion in the between the hard to reach head tube gusset plates. Oddly it had a couple extra bearings rolling around in the BB from the factory! The cages were intact and had there full compliment of 5/16" ball bearings. Vintage steel is located near me and I was able to pick up really high quality repop decals for it. The only Kuwahara branded item I still have is an early 80's card board slide rule style spoke calculator I haven't seen another. Love the channel and you are my first choice whenever I am looking for parts. Cheers!

I had two of these, from 1981 and 1982 brand new frames. I had no idea they remade these again. The frame Gusit is identical. Serial numbers are on the crank tube though in the old days. As a racer I thought these frames had superior handling than the other popular brands. The rear triangle was just a little bit longer adding just a little bit more needed wait to the front end so you could get out of the gate and put the pedal power to the ground instead of the front end coming off the ground. Every GT frame made wheelid like crazy. I had a PK ripper, it looked cool but that bike was also too light in the front. Getting out of the gate was 80% of the game.

Was there a difference between Kuwahara bmx's that had the "factory" sticker and the non-factory stickers? I remember very vaguely from my childhood there was something about it. (??)
