I see people keep asking that question. Why don’t the baits come with those hooks. Well everyone wants the lowest price. Expect perfection. They gotta keep cost down some where. Want the better hooks ??? Be prepared too pay for the extra cost of putting them on. They could give you the option. With without. Spend what you want. Plus you use a bait a lot. You’re going to dull the hooks out. So you’re going to need an extra supply anyway. Right 🤔🤔

I'm thinking that too, I've never had a hook bend on me on these cranks unless I'm snagged on a log but tournament guys I see on KZbin they always say upgrade your hooks I'm guessing because every fish counts

They are the best treble hooks by far, but Strike King as a brand does not have a deal with Mustad, so they use the company they have a deal or partnership with when creating baits, which I believe is VMC. The baits will still catch fish, but he believes in the Mustad hooks more, so he changes them out. Some guys don’t, it’s up to each angler’s preference.

@johnnymassengale6275 that's lucky, I purchased a whole bunch of them last year, like 50 of them. 20 wouldn't run straight and needed tuning (were side swimming out of the box). Out of those 20 that didn't run straight, about 7 of them also had pinhole leaks and would fill with water. Also had maybe 10 that ran perfect but would also fill with water after a few casts. And the rest had no issue.

@@JS-oy6nn seeing as how they had these issues straight from the box, and didn't receive any tuning until they were tested and a problem was discovered, I'd think it's safe to say it's a manufacturing problem.
