I use 30 lb braid and have no problems at all chunking even a quarter ounce zara puppy 50 or 60 yards with no backlash on a baitcaster. I usually put a 12lb mono leader on there too so the fish don't get spooked by the braid. You can use heavier mono but I fish really clear water and 12 is about all I can get away with and still catch the nice ones.
