Texas rigged curly tail worm is one of the best lures here in NY. Weighted on baitcaster and weightless on spinning rod. I think Texas rig is great because you can use 100's of plastic baits this way and cast it anywhere and retrieve it anyway to catch fish. Experimenting with it also makes it so fun which is why ill never use wacky rig senko baits because its boring in comparison. GL out there bass friends!

Final update: this little reel is the little engine that could kzbin.infoUgkxSlytCJqozTF7EbdP4LWP-HUXf9WRDJ0e . It performed flawlessly and was easy to adjust drag in the moment while I was battling a 35lb bat ray behemoth. Mind you, this reel is spooled with only 25 lb braid and 25 mono topshot. It's paired with the kastking telescopic heavy power rod and the two work well together. This has now earned my respect and confidence when traveling and fishing. If you have ever hooked into large rays and sharks, you know they pull extremely hard and can run forever! This thing clamped down on the fish and was easy to adjust during the fight. It has a nice decently fast retrieve as well. Twice the fish went on mad runs and I was able to gain back line quickly to avoid spooling.

Noah, I have watched several of your vids where you discussed the Custom Pro Speed Spool combined with the Mach 2 med/heavy fast rod. Several months back I both both and paired them together. Loved it! In fact, loved it so much that I have since bought two more. So, that totals to 3 of the Custom Pro Speed Spools and 3 Mach 2 med/heavy fast rods!! I have other paired up combos but those 3 are my "workhorse" go-to combos. they do it all .. short of heavy frogging or heavy flipping (then a heavy fast action is needed). Bottom line, your advice was spot-on beforehand and you have gone even deeper in today's video! YOU ARE THE MAIN MAN🙌. 💕 HOW YOU SHARE YOUR KNOWLEDGE SKILLS WITH US! 💯THANKS AGAIN🙌. Btw, I'm a LEW'S LOYALIST 🙌😎.

You're not wrong! I used this exact lure at a pond I've never fished before that was very low, since we had very little rain last year, AND relatively low amounts of snow. That has made it hard to catch anything around here. I used this one and caught a small 1# bass, proving what I believed, that there were definitely fish in that pond.
