Sometimes a ''Bad'' review can warn us of what bikes NOT to buy, I agree; I'd like to know what's wrong with the Vulcan.

Great Review. I almost purchased one as my first bike before deciding a naked would suit me better. It was my top choice of the class then and would still be today if I had not changed my mind

I’m curious to see which parts of the Vulcan you didn’t like… Great shots of the Rebel seems to be some beaut roads that way

Rebel's short seat height and narrow-ish that smaller riders and beginners can dominate. But with enough power to do 110mph topped out. It has no problem keeping up with veteran riders on larger bikes. Honda has a winner. Smallish fuel tank offset by great mileage.

For a cruiser, it has a bit of a sporty riding position. Your legs and arms aren't too far forward like most cruisers. It's also not hard to add a tac meter , and adding it makes the bike have a more aesthetic look. Putting a full system on this bike makes it sound heaps good too. You can also het a pillion seat with a backrest and the rider seat is super comfy.

I down sized from a heavy virago 750 to this rebel 500, the engine on the rebel is nice and it’s definitely lighter than the virago to move around when at a standstill, but the ride comfort on the virago is vast superior than the rebel , but I got the rebel as I am 68 and have trouble moving the virago in the shed and yard , the rebel fuel economy is good and the engine has been proven to be good , I fitted red dragon forward controls and a all in one seat and bar risers, it took my body about 2 months to get comfortable with my legs and muscles, but after that it is the best bike I have bought for years.

I bought one of these for my road bike, but living in a rural area with dirt roads and enjoying some motocamping from time to time. I put some meatier tires on it and with the lighter weight of the 500 over the 1100 is really easy to handle on the dirt. It might not be the most powerful but for my use case it's been absolutely perfect.

I'm not a beginner. As a matter of fact it was my last motorcycle, that I bought for myself as a 70th birthday present in 2019. This bike was to replace for me Honda NV400 Custom, which I rode for several years on very long trips, such as to SA Flinders and back to Melbourne along the shore. NV was very comfortable but it was lacking power. 500cc of Rebel sounded like a good upgrade. Unfortunately, engine was all right, but the rest was the worst bike I ever had. And I had many of them. This bike is so uncomfortable it's making one sore everywhere after just 50 km. My butt, arms, neck, back ( in this order). I upgraded everything starting from windscreen, custom padded seat, handlebar risers etc. I decided to make a trip to Darwin along the East Coast. After 4 days I made it to Brisbane. It was supposed to be 3 days, but I was so sore after 3 days of riding that I had to stop overnight just 150 km from Brisbane. I threw in a towel. Gave up on Darwin, and after few days of rest I returned to Victoria through the centre of NSW. I don't understand how Honda could make 1986 NV400 so comfortable and 30 years later released the butt sore Rebel.

Has the chain on that bike ever been cleaned and lubed. Looks pretty orange at 1:30 in the video

I might be wrong but I am pretty sure the Taco is cycled under the odometer. Cycle through and you get Odometer, trip meter 1, trip meter 2 and then odometer. Harley does the same.

I would actually like to see your video review of the Vulcan S. Every other video review I've watched of that bike has rated it from moderately good to very good. I'm curious to hear what you didn't like about it.

Debating between this or the NX500 as my first bike. I'm a bit taller and on the hefty side so I figure the ADV would suit me better, but the Rebel is just so visually stunning as well.

Medium engines mean better fuel economy, everything is a ''trade off''.

Interesting that you didnt like the Vulcan...bcs for me is the best looking onlyy the engine should be stronger and louder 😅
@samc123457 күн бұрын
Why would disliking the vulcan stop you from posting the review? Does this mean you only put out videos on the bikes you like? That doesn't seem very fair or impartial. I would be better to see your honest opinion on everything you review.

I don't like it, because they should have named it it's own name, in it's own right, because it's a completely different and parts incompatible bike, and kept on making the classic Rebels... or at least parked them on the side lines, to start producing them again when they find out that no, the public wants the classic rebels back just like classic coke.

Why is it that American reviewers think that every motorcycle below 50,000 cc is a beginner bike? It's not a "beginner cruiser"! It's a cruiser that will suit a beginner. My wife has had a Honda Rebel 500 since 2019, and she is no beginner.
@Kwackajack5 күн бұрын
Do you think I’m American..? Reckon it’s pretty obvious I’m an Aussie. I say it’s a beginner cruiser because that’s literally what it’s marketed as, but of course anyone can use it.
@barriewilliams45265 күн бұрын
@@Kwackajack Pass, I stopped watching as soon as the (American) phrase "beginner bike" was used. Have a nice Xmas Oz, and sorry I confused you with a Yank lol.
@nohero1784 күн бұрын
Life has passed you by and the only joy you get is criticizing people entertaining you for free, am I right? If you're so triggered about the phrase "beginner bike," I suggest you just get right on out of the bike community forever. Go do something else. Take up knitting.
