*Recipe below* Watch me make kwek kwek! Kwek kwek are hard boiled quail eggs coated with an orange batter that are then deep fried! Yum!
Kwek kwek are traditionally sold as street food, but this easy recipe is fast to whip up at home, so you can enjoy them any time! If you can’t find these cute little quail eggs, you could also substitute other eggs.

Ingredients:
18-36 quail eggs, hard boiled & peeled
1c flour (plus about ¼-½ c for dredging the eggs in)
¼ c cornstarch
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp sea salt
¼ tsp black pepper
¾ c water (or to desired consistency)
Orange food coloring
Oil for frying
Instructions:
1. Prep your eggs if you haven’t already
2. Put ¼-1/2c flour on a plate
2. Make the batter: In a small bowl combine
3. Add food coloring and mix - the batter should be thick like pancake batter
4. Make sure your oil is heated up in a small pot over medium high heat
5. Roll a few eggs in the flour then dip into the batter.
6. Drop into the oil a few at a time & cook about 1-2 minutes on each side until they are crispy
7. Transfer to a wire rack over paper towels
8. Serve with vinegar sauce or any favorite dip you like!
