Kwetu Regenerative hub, a story about off-grid homesteading and planting water

Enjoy a visual story about a dream that is unfolding itself. It is a dream that keeps evolving over time. the original dream was to prove in an arid landscape that it is possible to 'plant water' without or the least amount of irrigation in an arid climate zone. For this purpose we use our best knowledge and experience with syntropic agroforestry and permaculture.
However the place where we are creating this model farm is quite far from our home base in Nairobi. Our farm is located at a 5 hours drive from Nairobi somewhere deep in the hills of Kitui County. The last part of the road is not a paved road but a sandy road with a lot of small riverbeds to cross.
The condition of the road and the distance from Nairobi made it almost impossible to build up a syntropic farm as we used to do by implementing all features at once. So we are building up the succesion in stages.
But as time went by we found ourselves to often and to long away from the farm knowingly that in order to make a real impact we needed to be much more time at our farm. And that is how the second part of our dream made its way in the existing dream. That second part is about building a house, a natural off-grid homestead which will make it possible to actually live on our farm. Since our farm wasn't reachable by car we bought a piece of land next to the sandy road which could be reached by car and was on a walking distance from our farm.
