Congratulations! I remember my DTQ that I started on a whim in 2020 and ended in 2023. It is still my first and only DTQ and the amount of love I found for these games creating my team was wonderful. You grow a strong attachment to every team member and the personal journey of reaching each goal sticks with you. Mareep took me the longest and I got pokerus before I even found it. Despite using static, I phased on two rats and a bellsprout. I wasn’t counting at the time, but this hunt was near 250 hours. The elation I felt finding my mareep can never be taken away; I will always love my DTQ file and it made me love the game even more as a result.

I felt this way with platinum. It was my first game and it lead to alot of stuff. I got my first shiny on that game when i thankfully knew what a shiny was and, i still have her. It was my first time discovering what pokerus was and then, finding a Poketuber that i still watch on and off (when he uploads) i found an Easter egg with crogunk in pastoria city when no one else was talking about it. I kinda miss the days where you got to experience stuff without knowing but now, everyone is spoiling major plots and you have to speed run them just to avoid them... But i did buy heart gold (for 130 dollars) and just recently defeated red. I used a mix of my team from platnuim and my team from heart gold. It was hard.

I remember when I first bought a newly HG in 2010, on my very first playthrough, I caught myself a shiny Rattata between Slowpoke Well and Union Cave. I was kinda disappointed when it evolved to a red Raticate. Good times. Since then, I've caught a handful - Slowpoke, Aipom, Metapod, Geodude, Drowzee (my second one, first one was on the original Gold version). Fun story; back in the early-2000's, I started playing a new game with a Totodile. Early in the game, I encountered a shiny Sentret. Totodile was 3-4 levels higher and Scratch attack. Then, a freaking critical hit happened. Shiny Sentret fainted.

I remember getting a shiny pidgey on the 1st day the game released on america, i also got a shiny donphan on victory road when i was about to face the elite four and many more shinies since i had so much luck in that game, but those are the most memorable ones that were on my journey without shiny hunting :D

49 for the starter is insane to me. i randomly decided to xomplete my first ever shiny starter hunt with my og copy of ultra moon i started at some point in eleventh grade and now im two years out of highschool i took some small breaks here and ther otherwise been consistent and still nothing. but i wont give up and waste all that time either so im locked in still i hope i get it someday soon before i get way to busy with life and i am unable to put time into a long hunt like this one.

I tried a handful of times when I was a kid but as a kid I did not have the paitence to stick with a starter hunt for more than a. Month or two before I would give up. I’m way too deep now to give up. Sadly I don’t have a number of resets done I don’t keep track of resets because then it just makes it feel like a mind numbing chore just slowly watching the number counter go up. But I imagine it would have to be decently high by now lol. I just finished hunting till my 3ds died so I’m giving it a break for now. At least when I finally get it will be a cool memory but at this rate with how long this one took I dought I would try again on a different game just takes way to long lol I just wanted to do it once to say I did it lol

I’m sure the number had potential to be super high at this point I won’t give up though I’m to far in. I hope I get it soon though. I believe during my first playthrough of this game Rowlet was my first starter as well marking the first time I played through a new game not with the water starter I usually always chose the water starter lol. If I ever get it I’ll update you haha that will be hype. It is my og cartridge where I completed countless legendary shines and other shinies as well so the luck is on this cartridge no dought haha

Fastest ✨ I ever got was the dratini you get from the dragon elder. One SR. Only problem was that I didn’t know if you answer the question wrong, you still get a dratini but with no extreme speed. I was so mad 😂

I haven't really kept track the whole time, but in 2023, I did 265,000 encounters in generation 2-8 games (I don't count encounters in SV). I started hunting seriously in 2019. That should give you an estimate!
