I miss the old era of KZbin when more people had their own styles and types of content. Only a minute in but gosh I miss abenzio's videos. They always had such an adorable and excited feeling. I remember one reaction video where he had found a shiny while on a car ride and he had his grandmother talk about how much he loved shinies and she sounded so happy for him. For me, the easyness of shinies in gen 9 is what got me to start shiny hunting, and now ive snowballed into doing a few full odds hunts. I did a fossil hunt on lets go (784 with it ending up as Kabuto) and im currently doing a badge quest on Sword, looking for my first member on route 2. Shiny hunting has changed me in some ways, and i dont regret a thing about it

this is EXACTLY why i got into shiny hunting - the community. yours, sonikks, thesupremerk9s and shinycollector's videos were something my brother and i would constantly binge back in the day. it inspired my brother to challenge me to a shiny badge quest race and each day we'd update each other on how the hunts were going. eventually he face timed me like 2 weeks later with a shiny chikorita on his screen!! it 100% warped my reality, because shinies (to me at the time) were something to find randomly, and i was WAY too scared to start a shiny hunt LOL, but i started and after a little while found a shiny totodile on my lunch break at work on May 12th, 2018! even though i found shinies when i was younger, i never thought i'd start hunting them as much as i do today. thanks for the crazy nostalgia trip and the shiny addiction! also you really should play the new mario kart 8, its awesome!!!!

This is such a genuine time capsule. The older footage combined with the current narration brings a really genuine vibe to all this, and a video like this really highlights what I think is the specialty of this channel. I got into shiny hunting around 2015-2016, so just a little bit after you, but the early days of shiny hunting is something I will cherish forever, watching people hold their phones up to their ds’s, hearing whatever show they were watching on in the background. I always liked to guess when the shiny would show up for the person since everyone put a couple of encounters before the shiny showed up (still do it to this day). Sometimes I miss it, cause now, when I look up “shiny gastly” I get scarvio videos when I wanna see some sprout tower hunting! Also the shinytwins nature guess is such a throwback, I hope they’re both doing well

Absol this video is really good, it seems like a logistical nightmare to somehow make all of that old footage work in a video like this. I think it highlights why I like your videos so much, they really capture the charm of the old internet and KZbin, but only the positives. I was about 10 years old when you first started filming this, and I wouldn’t have regular internet access until a few more years from then, so this is definitely an era of shiny hunting I missed out on, and am a little envious of.
