Communism in countries have failed miserably. It was not even possible in the first place because not everyone is polite to follow a full scale Marxism. They have applied inhumane methods like suppressing human rights and killing birds which were not good. They were taught to only hate them and not to look at the positive sides of their opponents, while West had free speech. The only countries that are communist actually have borrowed methods from capitalism and Western world. Look at PRC, they have created their own internet and has took a lot of ideas from the West. The Mao's China would not stand in today's world. Or look at Un, who starves his own nation for "Juche" and exports luxury goods from his opponent nations for himself. China has ensured their survival, but in reality, China has lost the Communism war. So, they lost it.

@@lovely7983 Lenin created much starvation with grain requisitions...and this complete lack of feeling for their pain. He ordered successful farmers..kulaks..to be hanged, simply for doing well. That was there only crime. This was a deep personal grudge he held against them. Millions of peasants starved and it was only with the NEP he decided to enact that allowed people to actually sell their grain, thus feed themselves. He learned the hard way that severe and violent punishment destroys those who are actually producing your food. He was a short sighted, angry man with no real compassion for people, and his successor took that and made it so much worse, condemning peasants, doctors, intellectuals, anyone he felt like it, to death. There is no defending Lenin whatsoever or anything about communism, especially the way it was presented in Soviet Russia. A true tragedy.

Hmm... The Russian language has sound "h." The reason of using "g" here is a historical tradition/rule of transferring German (+Germanic [Scandinavian names, for example]) voiceless consonants "h" as a voiced consonants "g" (only for those that are written as "h", "ch" stays voiceless). "Hermann" is German, "Harold" is "Garold", "Heimlich' is "Geimlich", "Hamburg" is "Gamburg", etc. Therefore, "hamburger" is "gamburger."

Russians should thank McDonald's Canada for dealing for more than 10 years with the screwy policy of the USSR in order to allow them to open up to the outside world. I remember the first McDonalds that was open in Soviet Moscow (made possible by President Ronald Reagan) and there was a Cultural and Economic OUTCRY against “Amerika Kapitalism and Anti-Kulture” (pretty much the same you hear from American communists today) but the Muscovites LOVED it - willing to wait hours on line for their burger and fries (I heard that the first burgers were made out of pork until they could start raising their local beef for that “authentic” AMERICAN flavor!) and, more than one Russian told me from that day on that the “Cold War was Lost” - how can communism compete with fast, tasty, cheap “kapitalist” food???”
