They bought the chains from McDonald's meaning they have the equipment. So long as they have the recipe, it should be no different. What makes McDonald's taste so good (despite it being cheap and rather poor food) is the stuff they put on it. Some stuff the US uses is banned in the EU but they still put all kinds of flavourings/additives on the food. Without this, the food would taste crap.

I've been to that McD's back in 1992 and I can tell you that in comparison with the other "Soviet" stolovayas of the time, this was a paradise. The good thing with McDonalds was that they believed in local sourcing, so when they started to build that restaurant in Moscow, they were already making factories to supply the ingredients (cheese, meat, bread, etc.). My company was involved in providing one of the machines to make the cheese back in 1989/1990, so I remember all this. So, I think a transition to another local brand name is actually no problem and like another subscriber wrote, the most important thing is that all the people are getting their jobs back. The cherry pie looked like what our Arby's (roast beef) restaurants used to serve. It looked crispy. The McDonald's in the USA are not good any more. The hamburgers taste mostly of black pepper, things are poorly prepared and it has become rather expensive. New subscriber - looking forward to watching your other video.

I remember watching the grand opening on the news. Russian companies are very resilient, and this was really refreshing, not only for the preservation of the food, but for the many employees. It also makes me think of other fast food chains that have made it into the money in other countries like Jolly Bee in the Philippines, or Food Panda in the US. Unfortunately I cannot find an example in my own home country of Thailand, possibly because we don't enjoy western fast foods to the same extent. Here the successful food chains are restaurants that provide noodles or something involving BBQ meats and vegetables along the lines of a mix of Korean BBQ and Japanese Suki Yaki. We call it "Moo Krata", in Thai, meaning pan broiled pork. Having said all that, we do eat western foods, especially the financially well to do, due to the high price. Of these pizzas and fried chicken are popular. A Thai company called The Pizza Company seems to be ubiquitous, while the Kentucky Fried Chicken seems to be the only foreign fast food chain to have really been truely popularized among locals (alot having to do with being similar kind of food we usually eat already as well as price).

It's not just Russia, but most fast food chains including McDonalds source as much as they can in the country where they operate, it's much cheaper, and easier than shipping stuff internationally. The factories that process the food would have been licensed to use "official" recipes and meet QA/QC standards for taste and appearance. These places employ a hell of a lot of people when you include the supply chain.

May work with food to a certain extent. Anyone can produce simple junk food like burgers, fries and other stuff 😅. Taking over a defined and well established product to please the local addicts, they have it even easier than the Japanese (no pun intended, I am just recalling history 😅) in the 1950s/1960. The Japanese and later the Chinese (those are still doing that) copied eagerly any Western product they could get their hands on trying to export the copied products for a lower price. Obviously not the intention here. With other products this will not work so easy I guess. What happens is, when you buy off a restaurant of a sort, you usually buy it with all the equipment, stock or both and it is a big part of the buying price so it's natural they opened right away to not only to not lose money but make as much as possible from the McDonald's stock. It will certainly change after a while and I'm curious how much. Greetings from Czechia.

@@VHSKacceta Yes but they bought the supplies from the suppliers and had it stored. They closed without using the stored stuff and they bought it with the stocks an in a sort of "prepared to sell" state including the packaging. So that's why some wrappings are just one color with no brand, because they had to speed print new ones so they could actually use the stored goods before it goes bad. Imagine that in dozens of McDonald's shops, they would lose so much money. And also, the quality might drop because the new owner can have different policies for storing goods or use cheaper ingredients, that's why. You can see that in many restaurants as well, when there is a new owner they usually save money by using cheap ingredients or upping the prices.
@VHSKacceta2 жыл бұрын
@@AzureWolfblood What kind of moldy bread? What are you talking about
@VHSKacceta2 жыл бұрын
@@nesh_san The most strange reasoning. The rebranding was as fast as possible, because it was necessary to open restaurants as soon as possible and remove the downtime. To return workers for their work. Naturally, they have old McDonald's supplies in storage, but in your opinion they should have thrown them all in the trash or what? Naturally, they also use what they have in warehouses. There are problems with sauces, but otherwise contracts with former Russian suppliers have been extended and nothing will change. The main point of this whole event is to save jobs, as soon as the current owner opens restaurants all over Russia and stabilizes supplies, everything will be as before. Well, I hope in the future we won't see McDonald's on the Russian market anymore.

@@MrZlocktar Not fully true: all sauces were imported and they are the signature of the typical McDs taste!

@@makulVR Pretty much why i never eat Heinz. Too much vinegar, too much sour. Most of sauces made inside of Russia have much less vinegar, less sour, more of tomatoes taste with a bit of texture because of vegetables in it. I am a big fan of their version of mayonnaise too. You can almost eat with a spoon. Hence the reason they have a lot of salads with it.

Thanks for making this! I was curious if it would be the same thing and is just a bootleg McDonalds, just as Belgium is just a bootleg Netherlands and worse France

OMG... the logo is a knock off of Japanese burger chain "Moss Burger"... Looks like nothing much has changed except the name, still has same menu, food, and ingredients as Mickey D's... I'm guessing because McDonald's built out the supply chain locally, so mostly everything will be similar and the new group that owns this "Tasty, That's It" rebrand got it for a steal... Thanks for sharing Zangieff!

Haven't ate at McDonalds in 15 years but it looks like this place got it right! The grease drippings trying to work there way out of the paper bag. the panting and perspiration after consumption. Everything checks out. Thanks for the review.

I had understood McDonalds wanted all the sourcing to be local because they expected to stay in Russia forever. Sadly, the invasion ended that. I'm sure the Armenian food is better for you.

Sounds like they still have food stocks left from the original Mc Ds menu so until that runs out it will taste exactly the same maybe small differences. I would be interested in finding out what it taste like in 3 months. Also, what if they just change little by little as stocks run out. Will people even remember the original after months of slow changes?
@conan6704312 жыл бұрын
foodstocks from where..... shipped all the way from US? It is all localy produced and supplied for McDonalds chains...... if it was shipped over the ocean and stored that means a logistical nightmare and lot higher prices. It is now cheaper and deff bigger in size ...
