What must it be like, to have such a gift? To discover it as you grow up… I can’t imagine. I recall discovering things I’m good at and thinking great I get to do something well. But to do something that is unlike anyone else ever and that has the power to beautifully move and impact every person who encounters it and to know you have that gift to give the world…. I can’t even imagine what that must be like. I’m grateful she pursued it and grateful for the person who posted this so I could find it

When they first discovered her unique gift her step mother asked her if she would like to try singing, Diana was very small and she thought that if she did not sing they will return her to the orphanage and she said that she will do whatever if they want her to sing she will sing. Her step mother then had to explain to her that she can do what she liked and have no fear of leaving their family ever. Diana naturally loved singing, she was singing to cartoons constantly so she began to learn and participate in a huge number of vocal competitions even from the age of 6, her mother and grand mother always supported her they even made all her costumes by hand for every competition since they were not particularly wealthy. Her story is one right out of movies and it is straight up a miracle that we get to hear her and follow her rise.

What an amazing person she is- the hardship of her past of having been in an orphanage and the fear of abandonment so young and her triumph over it and how she chose to develop her gift so young and the passion with which she performs and a voice that is like no other. I would love to write her story. Someone should. Thank you for sharing that. What a treasure. She’s made such a deep impression on me and I must confess it’s added much joy and beauty to my life.
