Hi! If air filter was so dirty and intake valves clearance are too small - this all means that the engine sucked dust or sand and valve edges are worn and lost its shape. Just check valve clearance after few hours - if it gets smaller - you need to replace intake valves and maby valve seats...

Yes you are exactly right. If they get tight again soon we are sending the head off to Millenium for new seats and valves

I can push my kick start down easily with almost no resistance and yours looked to have good resistance. I was told its from auto decompression. Now after seeing you kick yours I'm questioning mine 😂
@motion_mx2 жыл бұрын
So I have noticed on the kawis the resistance is very light compared to other bikes. Even with the valves spot on I can do by hand just like you said. But I will say it was extremely light since the valves were out of wack 😂

@@motion_mx thx. I have an 11. Just starting to take 20 kicks or so to start. Never had a valve adjustment lol….but only about 10-15hours of total use
@motion_mx2 жыл бұрын
@@jamesc6137 definitely check the valves. This bike also has about about 10 hours of ride time since last valve adjustment. My thinking is the valve seats are worn and valves are getting tight too fast

Man I wish I knew you. I have the same bike and sometimes I can get it to start after about 9 kicks sometimes I have to roll start it. I don't want to ruin it. Any advice would be helpful.

@@PatrickSewards check your valve clearance. Those intakes tend to get tight and that’s what usually causes the hard start typically

@@motion_mx ah man a little to far of a drive for me but I did get it to start but just bump start doesn’t wanna kick over previous owner said has a high compression piston in it should I do a valve adjustment or what do you think I should do?
@motion_mx2 жыл бұрын
@@delawareadventures3612 yea definitely adjust the valves. If you find yourself adjusting valves soon again that means the valve seats are wearing out and you’ll have to send out the head to have new seats cut. Anytime you hear popping in deceleration, no start issues (starts only on bump start)…it needs the valves adjusted more than likely. You can also have air leaks which is a good thing to double chdck

@@DRIVATAY I am not a mechanic at all. Just started working on my bike because the rod broke but from what I've read and looked into a small tiny bit that could be a vehicle down sensor I think there was a a couple years where it was a common malfunction wont hurt to look into. For all anyone wanting to get mad I am just offering a possibility and in no way think this is the only reason it happens.

@hotboxclipz on my 2011, it's halfway up the middle of the radiators directly in front of the outlet of the gas pump. And like 6 or 7 inches up from the start of the exhaust header. It's held to a piece of the from with rubber
