Running good low-mid- (amazing power delivery, running too rich on high rpm's. (needs slightly smaller mainjet)

@@jdbaccala2251 He would've, the powerband starts early on these and extends over much of the RPM range. Shitloads of power from idle that just grows until ~7000RPM and then drops off. 500 2 stroke with a power valve, make as much power as a 450 and nearly double the torque at 5000rpm

Really nice example of a KX500 they are become rare and getting a decent price as well if you find a good one . Been riding big bore bikes for most of my life but 4 strokes. Almost bought a brand new road registered CR500 in Australia about 1995ish ??? but thought i mite kill myself ha ha ha and I was idiot back then . They were selling for $10,000 . It's all about the torque and wheel stands . Thanks for the memories ✌

It’s a two stroke the motor gets oil in the fuel so the only way the engine gets oil is if you rev it, don’t let it idle like that!
