As long as you mix the oil rich enough to maintain oil presence of a bit during engine braking, you're all good. Worse case scenario you just have slightly shortened ring lifespan. There isn't much side loading on the piston during engine braking.

looks like it doesnt have much compression?

Carter Boaz I think in this video the old girl was tired. I recently had the crank rebuilt. I’m putting in new crank bearings and seals and am getting the cylinder replated and new piston so she’ll be fresh!

@@bumpstartnether i also noticed you had a decompression lever some time through the video, just saw it had a lot less compression than my 490 when you were starting.

What brand spoke skins are those? Want to throw some on my warp 9s on my klx650smr
@bumpstartnether4 жыл бұрын
Eat Your Broccoli I got the spoke skins on eBay or Amazon I forget. Super cheap like $12 and I trimmed them to length.

The 88 motor is sooo much better. It’ll feel like a totally different bike.
@bumpstartnether4 жыл бұрын
I agree. I have the 88 engine still, I just need to replace 4th gear and send the cylinder out to clean up the bore/new piston. I plan to get the 88 motor back in this summer.

Hey man how do you have your little oil bottle mounted on the forks. I have one of those and never thought of it mounting it to the bike. I actually have a kx500 sumo too. If there was any way to send me some pictures of it I’d really appreciate it

Zach Ward I just hose clamped some “L” brackets from the hardware store to the front forks and I made sure there was clearance so it wouldn’t interfere with turning. I have a rubber band holding the bottle into the “L” brackets via little hooks.
