In Aranya Kanda of Valmiki Ramayana, Seetha tells Ravana that she had stayed at Ayodhya for 12 years after marriage. When She had left for Vanvaas, she was 18 and Rama was 25 years of age. Does it mean she was 6 and Rama was 13 at time of marriage ? Since vedic era, Upanayana or initiation of education was considered as 2nd birth (Dwija). For Brahmins it was done at age of 8, Kshatriyas at 11 and Vaishyas at 12. They were called Dwija (twice born) after that (Apasthamba Grihya Sutra). Since both Seetha and Rama were from Kshatriya families, both of them were initiated at age of 11. So, after their 2nd birth (initiation), their new age was 6 and 13, but their biological age was 17 and 24 years respectively at time of marriage. After 12 years of married life at Ayodhya, when they left for Forest exile, their new ages were 18 and 25 but biological ages were 29 and 36 years.

@@factonusfactsonus1693 I have reading mahabharat and in Shantiparv same question was asked by yudhishtir to which both rishi bhrigu and yagyakalvya said. since they are doing all the related tasks of other three varnas like charioteer, cleaner of yagya site, etc. And eat all types of foods so they should not do the upnayan sanskar. But they were not restricted or prohibited of it. They can do it on their own yagya, war, business everything. Vo teeno karya unke liye nishedh(prohibited) nhi maane gye. Rishi chandkaushik or Rishi matang jo shudra varna mein paida hue the dono brahmlok vasi ho gye.

I've been searching and researching a lot of scriptures mainly Ramayan and Mahbharat in details (as we've read only small part of these during our childhood), not to mention during the process I've came across a lot of websites made by some particular community to spread false and hate speech and to do brainwash (as usual) to the people. I literally visited and read all the articles from those websites and I was stunned after reading all of those, how did a person can make such claims out of nothing? And the claims are totally false but common people will not research like me and will believe those stories from the scripters (as they mentioned) and will guide people in a wrong way. I'm really concern about these websites. I examined both parts (stories/lines from those websites which they claimed that came from different scriptures and puranas and actual scriptures), and believe me they literally changed whole meaning of those Sanskrit verses xD People should be aware of such websites and don't try to learn from online or social media until you can find a solid source.

Mithilā region of India and Nepal celebrate the Vivaha Panchami festival (wedding day of Rāma and Sitā) on Margashirsha Shukla Panchami in Maithili calendar. Considering the precession of seasonal calendar by three months around 78 CE, the date of wedding of Rāma and Sita would be Phalguna Shukla Panchami but Ramayana indicates that Rāma and Sitā were married in Uttara Phalguni nakshatra (मघा र्ह अद्य महाबाह तृतीये र्िवसे प्रभ | फल्गुन्याम् उत्तरे राजन् तन्विन् वैवार्हकम् कु रु |-1.71-24, उत्तरे र्िवसे ब्रह्मन् फल्गुनीभ्याम् मनीर्षणोः| वैवार्हकम् प्रशंसन्वन्त भग यत्र प्रजापर्तोः-1.72.13) but Bhaga is the prajapati of Purva Phalguni. Thus, Rāmāyaṇa indicates a Vivaha muhurta between Purva and Uttara Phalguni nakshatras. In modern times, Margashirsha Shukla Panchami occurs in Shravana naskhatra which is not consistent with the evidence of Rāmāyaṇa. During Rāmāyaṇa era (5677-5577 BCE), the shukla panchami tithi of Margashirsha, Pushya, Magha and Phalguna months used to occur in Dhanishthā, Uttarabhadrā, Ashvini and Krittikā nakshatras respectively. According to Baudhāyana sutras, Rohini, Mrigashira, Uttara phalguni and Swati were the best nakshatras for marriage. Therefore, it is certain that the wedding of Rāma and Sitā took place in between Purva Phalguni-Uttara Phalguni nakshatras and the tithi was Panchami because Ramayana refers to Maghā on the third day. Seemingly, Ayodhya-Mithilā region followed Purnimanta Vedic calendar during the Rāmāyaṇa era. It appears that when Vaishākhadi amanta calendar (Tirhuta Panchang or Maithili calendar) was introduced, the date of Vivaha panchami has been erroneously fixed in Shukla paksha instead of Krishna Paksha. Due to Precession, the date of Vivaha Panchami has been shifted from Chaitra month to Margashirsha month in modern times. In all probability, the wedding of Rāma and Sita took place on Chaitra Krishna Panchami in Purnimanta calendar and Phalguna Krishna Panchami in Amanta calendar i.e. 2nd January 5654 BCE. Thus, Rāma was 19 years and 11 months old and Sitā was 12 years 10 months old on the day of their marriage. Probably, Dasharatha stated “ऊनर्वंशर्तवषो मे राम राजीव ल चनोः” instead of “ऊनष िशवषो मे राम राजीव ल चनोः” in Balakanda.
