Best parts about this was that very big intro, man it's so nostalgic lol Kyde reminds me of the summer camp counselors I used to have back when I was a kid growing up. Just doing random fun things like that. This intro is like the after school T.V. You would have watched in the 90s. I was in Rhein Main Elementary in Rhein Main Gateway Gardens when I was a kid. It was a small school with the military and the best part was teachers like Kyde & Eric worked their just regular people who had just interest in teaching kids, some schooling but nothing too detailed as I learnt later in life. But it was just a fun experience a world when just being normal interested sociable and yourself was just fun. If wind can push E back you know that's some Serious PUSH. Magnetic Wind Pull. "Fairy Pools lol" great job you two, keep up the creative work. Twin Spirits.

Before they built the bridge, (not all that long ago - or am I just getting old?) Kyle of Lochalsh was a ferry port. Nearly everyone and everything headed for Skye had to go on the ferry. That's why there's a pier there. There was (is?) also a ferry from a place called Uig to Mallaig.

Three minutes in looks like Duntulm Castle. Going back a good fifteen to twenty years ago I was on holiday on Skye and was visiting the castle on a very stormy day. A young couple had a very small child with them, and they struggled to keep hold of him to stop the wind taking him over the cliff. We were all squatting low just to reduce the affect of the wind as we desperately battled our way back to the car park. I'll never forget it.

If you guys like waterfalls then I recommend a trip to Iceland in the spring as the snow melts. I could, and did, stand watching the raging torrent of Gullfoss as if transfixed - probably more impressed by Gullfoss than I was by Victoria Falls in Zambia. There are plenty of other falls along the south coast - not such a volume, but a higher drop and, in one case, the wind was actually blowing the water back whence it came so that none of it actually made it to the bottom of the cliff. Well worth a short hop, either from UK or USA or even en route between the two, to Reykjavik (Iceland Air does some cheap fares between UK and USA via Iceland with the option of a short stay between flights).

This is a really lovely video. Yes those are the parts for the wind turbines and seeing them in action is pretty cool if you get a chance because they are goliaths! If you are lucky you’ll see the Hebrides during a storm. The wind pretty picks up even more and the sea smashes into the sea walls. The game is to run along the promenade before the wave gets you :P

wind turbine blades off loaded them within our port a few times
@snakesocks6 жыл бұрын
The reason the turbine blades are so big is because there are more efficient that way. If you increase the blade length a small amount; the amount of power output increases a lot.

@anonymes28846 жыл бұрын
Yep, power captured roughly scales with the square of the blade length so double the length = four times the power. Not sure if Kyde and Eric saw one of the real monsters but last I checked the biggest blades were about 88 metres long (about 265 feet ?). There's a test site for big turbines off the other side of Scotland, near Fife.
