Abusive behaviour comes from deep internal sadness. I firmly believe that no one deserves to be so miserable that they feel the need to make everyone else in their lives miserable, too. However, I agree with the comment about the kids. As soon as you make the decision to be a parent you have a responsibility to take care of your shit so that you can be a decent one, regardless of what or who caused your problems in the first place.

She puts her kids in danger though. I have all the sympathy for her kids. I have lost sympathy for a woman who has prioritized her partners for as long as her kids have been alive. She had access to way more resources to get out than the average person and she keeps bringing her kids back to an abusive environment.

I absolutely agree. Not excusing Jenelle's actions at all, I think it's disgusting she put her kids in danger. However, what isn't mentioned here is that all the other adults in her family are just as fucking insane as her. She has a brother and sister. Like jenelle, they both have criminal records and have a history of cps involvement. Apple definitely doesn't fall too far from the tree here.

@@allstopblue5717I don’t see how this glorifies teenage pregnancy at ALL. Quite the opposite actually. This is coming from an ex-teen mom. Teen pregnancy rates actually went down after this show aired. I do think that youtube and tiktok teen moms are glorifying teenage pregnancy, but they’re actively choosing to show only the good parts of their lives. That’s not what MTV teen mom was, every single episode was drama, trauma, bad parenting, and even drug abuse.

@@magnolia6968look at it from the other side - today's teenagers want to be famous. these girls and their dramas were and still are on TV and the Internet. some of them earn a lot of money from it, are popular, have followers counted in millions. the dream of many teenagers today. they don't care about the child, they are only interested in the popularity they can gain from the child. that's why the whole teen moms program is harmful, pathology has become something desirable. apart from isolated cases, none of the girls from the program have got their lives together, almost all of them are extremely bad examples for anyone.

Yes, Babs has toxic issues for sure. But Babs is also human, and was trying her best, and went through God knows what growing up herself. But she, at least, tried. She didn’t go around blaming how she grew up for anything. She kept a job and supported Janelle, even though Janelle made fun of her job forever. Meanwhile, Janelle and her worthless, dog murdering husband can’t even hold down a lemonade stand. She accepted Janelle back time and time again, giving her chances over and over, and even sacrificing her own life to fully raise Janelles child. There’s a point when you can’t blame Mom anymore. Janelle is incredibly selfish and delusional, and will never take accountability for anything. All this happens and she blames Jace. HE is the threat. Still defends DaViiiiid, though. And I can bet David probably murdered the pit too.

Everything you said was spot on! Barb has at least always been their for Jenelle and when her own husband was abusive she left him and raised three kids as a single mother, she put her kids first. Something we never see Jenelle do. Some ppl don’t understand the fact that Jenelle is just as bad as David. If she left him she’d be with another “David” in no time. She can’t stand on her own two feet and it’s always the kids that suffer.

The end where you said "Some of the worst parents can turn around and be real sweet to their kids here and there, but that doesn't mean that they're always like that" made me genuinely emotional. It is so confusing as a child to see the dark parts of someone that shapes your entire world, and how easily they can put on a kind face for other adults, even friends of mine. Watching the Duggars growing up, I felt their fear and didn't even know enough yet about myself or fundamental christianity to know why. I also watched Teen Mom & am appalled to say the least. Thank you for making this.

Him killing the dog is what really sent me over the edge. The dog didn’t do a damn thing wrong. The kid was clearly bothering the dog. And if you can’t understand that a dog is an animal that had its limits of being annoyed, you should not have a pet while you have children. The dog didn’t deserve that. And… the dog didn’t really even break her skin. It was a warning. The dog didn’t want to hurt the kid… the dog wanted the kid to leave it alone. My heart breaks for that poor dog who was killed for no reason at all. 😭

Yes, it's so sad. Seeing how cute and little it was breaks my heart. They've had so many issues with animals. They get dogs and they are never seen again. I truly hope they don't get anymore. I can't even imagine what all he did to the poor things. Whats funny is Jenelle acting like she don't know when I remember she was crying cuz she was close to the dog. I cant remember if it was IG video or what but after a few days she changed her tune and defended David acting like she dk what happened. Its so frustrating how she lies for him. Shes claiming now that David was protecting her family from Jace and his mental health. Shes a known liar. She constantly lies. When she had Jace in the back seat during an episode and got in a road rage incident where she followed some guy home and pulled out her gun. Jace told Barb during the pickup and Jenelle tells Jace "no I didn't, why are you lying Jace" and hes so confused, They even rewind and show she had it. Shes a POS

I think the reason Jenelle clings to all these men is because of her father not being present in her life. I read somewhere that she said that for the brief time her dad was around, she was very close to him. In the clips of Jenelle in these videos, you always see her crying hysterically over these guys. She never cries like that over her kids.

The fact that more people see this is mind blowing to me. She clearly has attachment issues and likely borderline personality disorder/bi-polar. Barbara had good intentions, but ultimately, her parenting 'style' caused further harm to Janelle. HOWEVER, at this age, Janelle has had plenty of time and resources to get professional help and to make better choices. That's 100% on her at this point. I have empathy for her, though, because I can connect the dots of how she turned out this way. Severe anxious attachment and fear of abandonment outweigh all logic in her mind. Absolutely heartbreaking for the children.

Based on the information available, it seems most likely that Barbara raised Jenelle in a house where these exact same things were happening. It's very obviously the result of family trauma, Barb just didn't have a paycheck from MTV to help enable it. I know there have been reports that Barb's other kids don't speak to her & while I don't give Jenelle a lot of credit I do think she was right that part of why Barb refused to give custody of Jace back was bc she knew having him meant Jenelle couldn't cut her out. There was definitely some coercive control in their relationship. Either way, it's very sad that Jenelle did have the financial means to seek help & overcome her problems but was never able to find the motivation to do so.

Also, this man reminds me of Frankie. A man my mom was involved with when her and my stepdad had spit for a little who ended up killing his whole family, and burning the house down after. His son who I babysat survived but ended up in a mentally insane hospital. He called my mom the day he killed his family to meet her and I thank god everyday that she never went. That whole incident still haunts me. There’s way more to that, but David reminds me of him to the look in his eye and the anger issues, and I really really really hope jenelle is safe and stays safe along with her children.

I have many animals(horses, dogs, chickens, cats) these people are EXTREMELY IRRESPONSIBLE pet owners. Never have I allowed my children to put their faces in my dogs faces, they are friendly, but animals are animals. If my child did get a nip, which is what that was, they’d learn to never do that again. I would be the one at fault bc I allowed my child to be in the animals face. That’s that, they don’t need animals if they can’t train them, and manage the children appropriately.

The craziest thing to me, as an older/ previous teen mother, how is this show- filmed and put out there - with these extremely disturbing/ abusive situations just allowed to occur?! I never could watch these simply because I was living my own version of life as a young mom. I am now much older and my son is grown- I’m thankful I had a decently stable family when I was younger for a foundation. Things weren’t perfect, because I was a child- raising a child- but they were never toxic, and never with drugs/ various relationships that were not safe. How did the producers or camera crew not say anything- idk maybe they did and the failure was on the families and CPS. It’s just awful to see- so cringe. And so very sad for the children. I just love your channel sweet Kyeluh ! ❤

I fully believe that she doesn’t feel she can leave David. She tried… and he refused to leave the house HER MONEY built. It's so hard to watch people like Jenelle consistently choose men over her precious children. Over and over again, we see her cry and get the most upset, not when anything happens to her kids, but when a man rejects or hurts her. Like literally the most important thing to them is having a boyfriend, any boyfriend, even if they are horrible, because being alone is the worst possible fate. I hate it so much. I have a mom and a sister and a niece who are all exactly the same with their priorities. It's just so sad for the kids, not only will they forever be neglected and put last, but they will have this as an example of how relationships work.

I recently started watching Teen Mom again and i couldn't get through it. Like Hey MTV, you're filming continuous domestic assaults, a teen mom trying to figure out how to pay for college books and where to live, several of them became addicts right in front of all these adults filming them. Leah holding a baby nodding out and it took sooo long for someone to take the baby. They set all these girls up to fail and they did, in the most explosive way and now there's like 20 children being raised by MTV teen moms and their (mostly) loooooser boyfriends. Reefah with Keifah, Barb is the GOAT. Sorry for the teen mom novella. I will never understand the need to breed with all of your partners. YOU ALREADY HAVE ONE AND YOUR LIFE IS TERRIBLE. Edit: I forgot about Cortland ICK.

This kind of unhealthy drama is pretty common in today's dysfunctional families. It's so common, if CPS removed children from all the parents who screamed, fought, and smacked each other, we'd triple the number of kids in the system. The reality is, the abuse and/or neglect has to be bad to pull children. This is just another example of poor mental health in the U.S. Break the cycle 🙏

My kids know that if they are in the dogs face or playing rough and annoying the dogs, if they get bit, it is their fault and my kids get in trouble, not our dogs. That dog deserved so much better. I understand protecting your child and being mad when anything hurts them, but when your kid is annoying your family dog that is apart of your family and that dog responds because it’s frustrated the kid hurt it.. wtf!! I think Jenelle would be a better woman and mother on her own. Be alone, stay away from these abusive boys. I don’t think she’s a horrible person. I’ve been in two abusive relationships, I’m a recovering addict from pain pills. I can relate to her, I’m not saying I act or talk like her. BUT what worries me is Jace. My son Elijah ended his life on May 10th 2022. Elijah was so empathetic, beautiful, kind, funny, caring, an amazing friend. He had plenty of friends but he was still being bullied. He was a God fearing boy all on his own. I am as well but you can’t force someone to believe or have faith. Elijah didn’t have a bad home life. Me and him were very close, very bonded. BUT he never told me that he was getting bullied on Snapchat mainly. But also at Moore Middle School in Lawrenceville GA. Who btw doesn’t do anything about bullying, I found out a lot about that school from hai friends after he passed away. So my heart goes out to Jace. I pray that he’s gonna be okay. Bc the rate of young teens committing suicide is astronomical. David needs to GO. He is the issue. We have guns and ammunition in our house, there’s nothing wrong with that. SURE, at 16, she might need a little help with raising her son for the first few years, but it is *her* son, not her mother's. My own parents were high school sweethearts and had me young. I know they received *some* financial help those first few years, but there was never any drama on this level in all my childhood. I feel sorry for her children.

People always talk about people choosing bad men/women but the fact is what ‘good man’ would want to be in the middle of her shit show? Most good people avoid people like her like the plague cause they’d just get chewed up and spat out. If you want a stable partner then you need to be stable yourself. Otherwise your the ‘bad choice’.

Is it really a downfall if she was never a good person?

1) barbs ex was also abusive. So it’s crazy how judgmental and harsh she is about the abuse from David, when clearly she was influenced. Not that it’s an excuse or ok for the abuse. 2) I’ve been in a abusive relationship. He made me say he tripped over me and fell on me too. Also told people i had fallen down and he dragged me a little to pick me up to “put” me on the sofa. When he really dragged me then threw me on the sofa from anger. People like this are dangerous

Neither her or her mother have healthy ways to cope or engage in distress. I blame Barbara for Janelle’s behaviors and blame Janelle for Jaces behavior. Both are at fault for continuing the cycle of abusive patterns.

Has anyone heard Barb or Janelle ever come forward and truly take responsibility for their actions in front of Jace? When I've seen them talk about it during an interview they seem to just kind of laugh it off.
