Im not a scientist either but to the point , R&D shows crush points in cars absorbs impact so 100% correct , building too ridged is going to cause bad injuries or worse. Who remembers tho all the blame games on Earnharts accident and death, everyone kept saying it wasn’t that hard an impact !

It is concerning how stiff the Next Gen is. Dallara does not know how to build a chassis to safely handle the forces that Stock Cars experience apparently. Teams knew how but that talent is now gone to "save money". NASCAR is saving so much money it hurts.

Maybe it's been too long since we lost Dale, maybe the people who worked on creating this new car don't remember all the injuries and death before something was changed. Seems like similar conversations, drivers are trying to be vocal and it falls on deaf ears. Just looking at the rear structure of the new car without sheet metal, it's easy to understand why it doesn't have a crumble zone... it was built to be reusable after an accident it looks like to me.

They didn't. The big issue was they was looking for a car That would be more durability to try to save teams of money and of course we get the wrong people designing the car like the chassis and The wrong people would be Dallara. The reason the rear clip was so strong last year was they was so damn concerned about a fireball because the rear bumper is that much closer to the fuel cell because the manufacturers wanted smaller wheelbase like showroom cars. Everything though with the center section is the same as was with the gen 6 or even better.
