I wonder how many people understand how huge this is. Very few Indy rookies qualify in the top 12, let alone 6th fastest. If the conditions are right he could potentially take the pole today. Keeping his nerves calm and staying focused is going to be what makes it happen for Kyle. The support and team behind him is what he needs. Maybe Hendrick should consider running an Indycar team next year. They already have a driver that can get it done.

I want everyone to really listen to this interview closely. Jeff Gordon is the only 5 time winner of any series to win at Indy. I am not knocking any Indy driver. I have watched this race, and the 4 time win club form in my lifetime. I also watched Jeff Gordon win all 5 of his Brickyard 400 races in NASCAR. Seeing both TK, and Gordon side by side is a moment Hollywood couldn't make up. This is the race even 5 time track winners want to be at. Best of Luck Kyle. As I do every year since 1976, I take my break from NASCAR for this race, until the 600. So yes, I'll be love chair racing the 1100 miles with you.

@@buckeyefangirl1976 I've been watching indy since 76, NASCAR 79, and formula 1 since 82. I've even been too many races in my life nothing has ever compared to the 1986 Indianapolis 500 and the 2000 Indianapolis 500, And I have been to Talladega. This track is History. This race is history. I have tremendous respect for Jeff Gordon watching him for his whole career in NASCAR. When I watched him win his fifth I was in tears because I'm sorry this track means that much to me as it does to so many other people. Al Unser Jr. said it best, it's Indy.

@@maybenot6075 Indy 500, Coca Cola 600 = 1100 mile. Now, I also watch the Grand Prix from Monaco, which is before the start of the Indy 500, that race is 300 km, so roughly 1250 miles for all 3 races. It's been a tradition that I've been doing since 1982. I watch all three live coverages.

@@trevor4533 I dont know that I agree. Indy car drivers had made the transition to Cup in the past. Rarely were they successful, let alone in their first race. Im not saying Indy car drivers aren't good. Cup cars are just much harder to drive and it takes a lot longer time to adjust.
