If people are unsatisfied with Logono's championship it's not an indictment of Joey but rather NASCAR's silly playoff format. Finally mentioned in the final 5 seconds; the undertold part of this story is Penske. This is just what they do, across multiple series, for decades. They exploit the rules as they are written and concentrate their resources on when it matters. Penske formula and it's worked 3 years in a row. Also, anybody else notice the #22 wins the championship on the weekend Bobby Allison passes? RIP to my childhood favorite.

Joey Logano reminds me of Dale Earnhardt. He's a great racer that has skills no other driver in NASCAR has (fuel mileage). Dale Earnhardt could win on superspeedways with everyone else wondering how he won with a slower car. Neither one gave a rat's ass what anyone thought about them and both got wins whenever the stakes were the highest and the pressure was on.

Dont blame the system for joey. Blame the other teams that had an advantage from wins and regular points for their playoff points and then choking it away. Maybe reddick would have ran better at phoenix if his team wasnt preoccupied with this lawsuit that they are probably going to loose. Larson is talented but he is not very smart, infact he makes some very dumb decisions a lot. He had like 12 laps left at homestead when he made that move. He could have waited and been smarter. If he finished 2nd that race he prob would have made the final 4. The great teams seem to not be so great when the pressure is on. Thats not joey or mascara fault. Also, im not a new fan. Been a fan since 94. Dont care what people say, the racing is better now than it was back then. Every Driver knew what System they drive. But some Fans couldnt understand what is possible. They stuck in old thinking. Joey Logano did what He can to win the Championship and he did it with honor and fairness. So he deserved it. I think the Driver who makes the most points in the end should be the Champion.No Playoffs. But this is not the System at the Moment. Congratulations to Mr. Logano for his Win.

You are correct. The format used now has created a kind of crap shoot effect while the old system was a true reward of every races finish with the lap bonuses tacked on. The old way was a much more accurate way to determine the driver that performed consistently the best.
