NASCAR Hall of Fame driver and 1983 Cup Series champion Bobby Allison died at his home in Mooresville, North Carolina, this past weekend. He was 86.
During his illustrious career, Allison won 85 races, including a controversial race at Bowman Gray Stadium that he was recently awarded before his death. In this clip from PRN's Fast Talk, NASCAR on NBC analyst Kyle Petty gives his thoughts on what it was like growing up in the midst of the Richard Petty-Bobby Allison rivalry and how close his family was to the Allisons despite the fierce on-track competition.
Kyle shares stories about growing up watching Bobby and Donnie Allison race against his father, Richard, and being close friends with Davey Allison. Kyle also tells a funny story about the time he qualfied ahead of Allison at Daytona only to find himself behind the legendary racer early in the race. #NASCAR #BobbyAllison #KylePetty
