I do find it funny that Kyle draws the line at engaging with the hobby proper as if it's beneath him but still plays MtG despite the game being way more sweaty. I think he views it too close to being like playing with toys despite the fact it's basically a turn based strategy game you play in person rather than online, and if it is just the building and painting aspect he's easily in a position where he could just build an army list and send it to siege studios or another commission painting studio and get a pro painted army with no effort on his part. The game is very similar to a point that not even he realises, like what they're talking about with gold value is basically the same as points efficiency and trading units in warhammer.

I can't get into the gameplay of Warhammer but I really dig the lore. My favorite has to be how Orks can make shit true just by believing it. Like how they paint their vehicles red because they think red means fast but it actually works.

Warhammer 40k is by far the coolest, darkest and deepest lore in anything i have every incountered. Its fantastic and sucks you right in. Really pumped for Space Marine 2, especially because you get to play vs the Tyranids which i collect in the real game.

Fun fact (who asked), there was a longstanding fan theory that the Warhammer Fantasy planet existed within the Milkyway Galaxy of Warhammer 40k, as the same chaos characters exist in both canons. It was given some credibility in the final series of WF, but GW, hating fun as always, confirmed that they're in separate universes. Then again, the Warp is supposed to be connected to multiple universes.

Beyond that take a look at the marathon logo and then the one for the Tau, and remember the Tau came out in 2001 and the first marathon game was from 94.
