I’ve watched a million how to manual videos, and have to say this is the best because it pauses to describe what not to do. Most other ones talk about doing an L shape and all that, but if you’re doing it wrong you won’t know what to fix. And I practically ripped the arm out of my shoulder once trying to figure it out, and after seeing this the lightbulb has gone off. I’ve been stretching my legs completely out causing my torso to lean forward.... thank you Kyle!!!

The positive modeling, the real-time learning, the gender balance, and just the warmth and graciousness you share toward one another is everything I want my kids to learn and pass on. Not to mention that you've helped me become a better rider and teacher myself! (Sidebar - you also inspired me to bring my wife on board to help with camps and clinics -- she's had a blast learning, the ladies have an instant ally, and it's strengthened our relationship ❤). And lastly, I was in Boise/Eagle recently, randomly, riding bike paths with my parents, checking out all the bike parks...when suddenly I started having all kinds of crazy deja vu. It is hard to know without seeing. Try filming yourself and comparing it to Kyle when he does a good manual in this video. Just watched April's last three training sessions in reverse (Wheelie, Drop, then Manual), but DEFINITELY! These are very Helpful as presented. Not to mention that seeing someone progress through from near zero experience / bad technique to using good technique and nailing this stuff is quite motivating / a confidence builder. Am now SUBSCRIBED !!! Keep'um coming, Thanks.

Oh crap! So 'near zero' experience April isn't... I just saw you film her on that nice downhill course. Nevertheless it was going from Bad technique to instructional Good technique that obviously progressed her forward (if anything it proved that even more so). My turn :)

i have ridden a bmx about 7 years and i've mastered manual so i can do it everywhere i want, i bought 29 full suspension early this year and the difference between 20'' and 29'' is huge, i had to learn bunnyhops, manuals and everything again. but damn riding 29'' is fun

It makes world of difference watching someone else trying to learn the technique than just showing your viewers how to do it! Great job .... I'm not sure if you are an mtb coach already, but if you are not, you should run some skill camps.... coaching seems natural for you! Not all youtubers have the didactics needed to teach others, but you, you have that!! I'll keep watching your videos.

Kyle, you are such a great teacher, excellent explanations, sensitive to April's pace and very supportive and encouraging. April, you are such a determined student, a fast learner and a brave person, not just for trying new things, but for putting it on film. I started watching these videos in the winter, so I won't likely get a chance to practice for a few months, but I'm looking forward to it. Thank you both.

Great video. Watching someone learning is the best way to learn. Better than watching a pro manualling 100yrd down the street.

Thank you for sharing the link to this video via my previous comment that I made in your 'Better Drops Part 1' video. I started off watching 'how to wheelie' videos with you and your partner then moved on to the jumps and of course saw the manuals that you did on that video and that led me here. 9:16 I can relate. Just a few days back while learning to wheelie, I did take a good tumble and landed heavily with my bike also landing on my lower leg. It didn't help that I was doing the wheelies with clip ons. Luckily it was night time (no witnesses) and I was in an abandoned road area so I just lay down on the road with my bike on top of me for a few minutes while I recovered. I'll keep at it though. 😉

I think I’ve watched all your how to videos today (slow work day haha). These are soooo good man. I’m a mid 30s guy trying to figure this stuff out and you make it seem easy. Can’t wait to get home and try figuring this stuff out. Going to subscribe to your channel so I don’t miss anything

All the tips are great on this one. I got stupid and forgot to cover the rear break, but did all the rest on point. Inevitably I looped out hard. Never saw it coming. Never even had time to think about unclipping. Landed like an helpless turtle on it's back...Now I have bruised bones in my lower back. Doe! No more manuals until I get flaties...
