I realized after I filmed this that I forgot about the Mac Pro, but it's probably best if everyone else forgets it too 😂

Forgot or "didn't purchase because it's way too overpriced when the Mac Studio exists"? 😂😂

I’m 50/50 on whether to get Mac pro or Max studio when it gets updated. Got a Mac mini pro 64gb ram but it’s not enough memory there is not enough IO at the back of the mini. Mac Studio should be a bit better as it provides a few more thunder bolt ports and ram but the Mac Pro has got more HDMI ports, more IO on the rear and you can add internal SSDs for storage. Just wish it wasn’t so damn expensive.

That would affect Mac mini and Mac studio sales, which is why they’ll never do that

This the best video I've seen comparing the all new products. Extremely useful for someone like me, who's moving from a life-time of Windows use to maybe relaxing into an Apple environment.

Mac Mini is probably the best value I’ve seen in any computer I’ve ever seen, and it comes from apple lol, they are maybe trying a new strategy.

During my earlier computer life between late 90s to early 2010s I used to do near-annual computer upgrade but as years have gone by I realized not only it was unnecessary, it was actually totally crazy and that hurt my wallet way too much. Nowadays I only upgrade computer when it can no longer efficiently handle the media files I am dealing with. My trash can Mac Pro surprisingly lasted 7 years. And judging by the type of stuff I am doing these days my M1 Max Studio probably will be fine for another 2 years minimum, unless circumstance is drastically changed.

I feel a used M2 Pro is the most cost effective option. I tried the M4 Pro base model but didn’t like that It got so hot with some games, and goes from pretty to ugly quickly when one adds dongles etc. The M2 pro has better ports and can be had used for half the price. Mine has 32Gb ram and 1tb ssd for $870

I want the mac mini but the options for monitors are all basically comprises. So, I'm just going to upgrade my m1 macbook pro.I don't ever leave the house. But my gaming pc is enough for anything windows specific.

I think if you have unlimited money, spend $25k-$40k. I do see a lot of people loving the Mini and I get it, but I would need to spend the same amount or more for just for the monitor. So I think your opinion about the Mini having everything in it is let’s just say… Half correct.

Haha, omg. What a wild random stroke of luck. I was getting half way through this video and I was thinking "why the fuck am I watching this? I don't need a computer, I should be looking at iPad videos to see what iPad people are doing." Only to have a sponsor show up for EXACTLY what I'm looking for, an iPad case that works with the magic keyboard. And not just a case that may work with one. It was literally the advertising feature. So I'll be sure to check that out immediately after I finish typing this random tangent out. But before I do that, I'll explain why I need that specific set-up. The main reason I need an iPad is because I use it for drawing. Drawing is the 'cornerstone' of my mobile device. And I've been bouncing around with a lot of different tech trying to find the best products for my needs as expensive as it's become. I've basically bought a Macbook, an iPad Pro 13, 11, Surface Pro, and even a Samsung S24 Ultra to see if it was a worthy drawing device. My ultimate conclusion after months of messing with stuff is that the iPad is the best product for me. I think tech channels kinda catch me with FOMO thinking I need 'higher' specced devices like a Macbook, or the ability to run MacOs. But the truth is, I really don't. I don't need to multi-task. I basically need to do a few very simple, but specific things. I need to draw. I need to type. It needs to have access to email, Reddit, Facebook, KZbin without ads, and that might be it? But back to the iPad case. One of my biggest issues with the Magic Keyboard, is that while it's an amazing travel case and protects the iPad within the case. When I remove the iPad to draw on it, it becomes exposed. There's no way to use a Magic Keyboard and effectively draw on an iPad. But when I draw on an ipad, I'm often scraping the back of it against tables, and other misc surfaces. I have to come to conclusion that either I find a case/skin that'll protect it. Or I give up on the clean lifestyle and rock an iPad with all sorts of garnly scars on the back. Might be good for personality, eh? So I've been passively searching for the miracle product. An iPad case that fits within the Magic Keyboard. It's easy to travel with, and then when I need to draw I just slot it out, slam-jam that bad boy on a coffee table and start doodling. The biggest problem I've ran in so far is that a lot of products don't specifically mention that they work with the Magic Keyboard. It's a lot of "it might work. It could work, sure, why not?" Which isn't the kind of affirmation I'm looking for. --- Side topic. My big-boy PC is a windows machine with a 4090, so I came to the realization that I don't really need a dedicated laptop for travel. I don't need 'power,' because I'm not realistically going to be gaming when I'm travelling. Over the past few years I've been trying to be aware of my actions, and I notice that I basically just wake up in the hotel room. Check my emails. Type off a few paragraphs. Throw my coat on and then go on adventures! I'm not sitting at a table wondering why I can't play Warcraft on an iPad when Mac OS can do it on an M chip. Yes, it would be neat if an iPad could run the same software as a Macbook, but realistically -- 'I' won't be using it, even if the option were there. My final thought is this. I originally wanted to just get a case for the ipad and keep it as a doodle device. But if this comment is any indication, I am addicted to typing. So I crave a keyboard for my ipad. It didn't have to be a Magic Keyboard. I had considered a wireless mechanical I could take with me. But then I'd have to get an iPad case with a stand on it, and I dunno. I wasn't really feeling the vibe. But I like to type. I like to draw. I want to sit in a park in Romania and feel like I can do the things I want to do! And I think the iPad is just my go-to tool of choice.

CPU and web camera AI are great for the M4 iMac, but it's limited ports for the pricey base version and risk of total failure if kids break it makes it a big no for me. The M4 Mac mini is a pure value steal if someone doesn't have a gaming need. A 27-inch QHD monitor to pair it with are as low as $150 on Amazon (USA). Also, far better port options and reasonably priced during a time of high inflation. If someone needs more ports, a small $20 dongle is easy to get online for those missing ports. The M3 Air is great for general web browsing, frequent travelers, and stability. If someone is a student, they can get a discounted student 0365 account with 1 TB of external cloud storage for MacOS. Again, not good good for gaming due to limited options that can run natively.
