Art dealer is a _great_ cover identity: reason to be visited by people of wealth and influence, like Senators, but also have contacts across the galaxy, and a natural reason to travel regularly in a private ship.
@Daniel_Huffman Жыл бұрын
Not to mention that it provides a good cover for moving money around for the Rebellion: As art can and has been sold for outrageously high prices, not to mention subjective prices, it would be difficult for an Imperial auditor to tell if a price is suspiciously-high or low, and also giving anti-Imperial supporters a greater degree of plausible deniability with regards to the money leaving their accounts.

My favorite moment was Karn basically coming home seeing his mother. She immediately slaps him before hugging him. Nice moments like these that humanize the villains go a long way.

I liked his elevator ride down from the upper levels. It's getting darker and darker as he goes down and the apartment he ends up at is perfectly nondescript. It's not the lower levels yet, but living sandwiched in between the opulence of the upper city and the crime-infested lower zones is probably depressing in its own way.

Is he even really a villain? An antagonist maybe, but he was doing what he thought was right. He was solving a double homicide. I feel like in another show he could've been the protagonist.

When Cassian (Clem) and Vel Sartha are hiking through the mountains, Vel makes reference to the area and how there used to be hundreds of settlements with thousands of people who lived here. Then the Imperials cleared them out and forced them south. A direct reference to the Highland Clearances. An actual event which took place in the Scottish Highlands from around 1750 to 1860. No coincidence that it's brought up when the location being filmed is in the Highlands.
@aricaj.30062 жыл бұрын
That one moment where Luthen tells Cassian "you know you're going to die fighting the Empire" or something to that effect was honestly chilling considering that's exactly what happens to him in _Rogue One_ . Up until this point I've been so distracted by the current events of the show that I sort of forgot about Cassian's future. But that bit of foreshadowing was a really sobering reminder of just how much of a sacrifice he is ultimately going to make to help ensure the galaxy's freedom. I love it when stories use dramatic irony to effectively create tension and engage the audience. We know how Cassian's story ends, but having that inevitable outcome hinted at in such a subtle way somehow makes the tragedy of it more poignant. Neither Cassian nor Luthen know just how true Luthen's statement is, but _we_ know, thereby making what is merely a simple exchange to the characters a much more significant moment to the audience
@TheTrytix2 жыл бұрын
The fact that you were talking so much about the Kuati Signet being a kyber crystal, that you MISSED when Luthen mentioning how it "celebrated the uprising against the RAKATAN INVADERS!" 12:35 I love the fact that Luthen is a pretty complex and sometimes shifty character: he claims to know Cassian better than anyone else but he's also willing to sacrifice him just for the sake of freeing the galaxy from the Empire. If I'm not wrong, there's even a mention of a two-faced relic in the Coruscant scene, perfectly describes Luthen's character (although that's one of my interpretations, of course. I'm sure that has something to do with the metaphorical connection between the relic and Luthen/Mon Mothma).

Now that Andor has straight up referenced the Rakata, I have a theory: what if the Rakata are the Yuuzhan Vong of the Filoniverse. For those unfamiliar with this rumor/theory is that all the projects post ROTJ but before TFA is building up to a massive crossover event to handle an all-powerful threat in the unknown regions. So characters like Din Djarin, Grogu, Ahsoka, Ezra, Sabine, and Boba Fett will be forced to join forces with Grand Admiral Thrawn to beat this enemy, thus explaining their collective absence in the sequels. With that explained let me elaborate why I think the Rakata are the big bads of the coming conflict: 1. Logically it doesn't make sense for the big bads to be either the Yuuzhan Vong or if you have read the new Thrawn books, the Grysk. A lot of people were less than thrilled with the idea of the Vong in the NJO books, as well as their strange relationship with the Force, so on top of feeling too Marvel I think the Vong are out. As for the Grysk, they haven't been mentioned outside of the Thrawn books and as villains they don't pose much of a threat to our team. But a group of dark siders more ancient than the sith with a Star Forge able to pump endless ships certainly is. 2. The Rakata and Rakata Prime have been mentioned several times in source books even before Andor. They have been secretly Canon for awhile. 3. Palpatine was sensing something calling him into the Unknown regions in the Aftermath books, which he assumed was the source of the dark side. With the sequels out we all assumed that it was Exegol, but with the new Darth Vader comics retconning that Palpatine had in fact been to Exegol before ROTJ it now doesn't make sense. UNLESS... he was sensing the return of the first dark siders on their homeworld of Rakata Prime. 4. Right after the ending of Rebels there was a lot of talk about a sequel. In one of these rumors was the idea that Ezra was training with an old Rakatan master while working with Thrawn to fight the Grysk. After the long years this rumor disappeared but now I'm wondering if this was a genuine leak.
