Oh yes, the sweet camera move around the back of Mon Mothma. So simple yet so effective in the right hands. I cannot stop praising this show.
@DanRobotMan2 жыл бұрын
Per Luthen, Clem brings critical redundancy to the mission. Meaning he is capable in a bunch of different roles in which might need a backup player. (Pilot, deadeye, infiltrator, etc) Just in case one of them goes down, Andor can jump in to fill in for them so that the mission isn't dead in the water. The thing is...I think they expect for at least a few of them to die, but as long as one person gets out with the cash, the Rebel Alliance lives on. And I fully expect, Andor to be the only or one of the only people to make it out of the mission alive.

You're forgetting how most people in the Imperial Navy *HATE* Thrawn. He's not human, quickly rises through the ranks, and has unconventional tactics and practices that don't conform to the norm. The only people you see truly respect Thrawn are people like Tarkin and Palpatine, who care more about results and victory then they do about an officer conforming.
@swordmonkey66352 жыл бұрын
@@AlasdairGR I'm not forgetting that. The Imperial Navy is a military institution. Military institutions are conservative and hold fast to their traditions. They don't like individuals who break conformity and do things differently. The military wants uniformity and pushes against change until either circumstance or higher authority forces them to. The history of the British Navy is rife with examples of bold commanders being resented and even actively acted against because they were "traditional enough" or jumped the line of command due to talent instead of seniority. History is also rife with examples of these bold mavericks pulling the military institution forward through victory because they thought outside of the traditional box. The fact that the IN doesn't like Thrawn is expected. The fact that Palpatine recognizes Thrawn's talent is my point. Results matter in command positions and Palpatine saw that.

I commented this on Heroes Reforged: The Imperial staff meeting (and the meeting after that) was the most "Empire" I've seen in Star Wars yet. It's all about the machinations of bureaucracy and administrative backstabbing that allowed the Empire to exist. Most people point to the "old evil space wizard in the black hood" as the reason the Empire exists, but like any government, it requires a massive bureaucracy to support and administer the will of the Emperor. I'd love to see a series of the office politics and backstabbing. Like Mad Men, but with Sith. lol

The armor is actually Ubese. The Ubese were nomadic warriors that roamed the galaxy working as mercenaries, bounty hunters and assassins. They also universally hated the Jedi and were renowned for their effectiveness at killing Force users. They were allied with the Sith in ancient times and participated heavily in the Empire's purge of the Jedi after the Clone Wars. Fun additional fact, Starkiller's armor in the dark side ending of the Force Unleashed is Ubese in style. It's to signify him as a killer of Jedi. I think the helmet on the armor in Luthen's gallery is almost a one for one of Starkiller's.

19:44 theyre not just keys, theyre data storage units so you can carry your door passwords on them but they also carry personnal infomation such as your security access data and store your work documents. The more areas you have access to the more seperate code systems you need and the more data you have available the more code cylinders you need to carry so displaying them is not only part of the uniform but its also bragging about how high your security clearance is. Fun fact back in communist Vietnam as well as some of the african revolutionary groups they made a citizens army with no ranks (briefly,it was a stupid idea that never lasts) and they also banned rank insignia. Officers started adopting biros as rank insignia,the more pens you carried in your top pocket then the more clerical/secrert duties you had to do and therefore the more important you must be. The biros might have no ink in them, the officers might have the reading ability of a tree stump but dammit he was going to be carrying a set of biros. Thank god none of them discovered slide rules.

It's not at all necessarily a stupid idea given of itself. Look who was attempting it. They wouldn't have done any better with a standard military hierarchy. But you'd never have complained that such an organizational model would be stupid (even though it itself isn't really all that effective in general). Nothing ever works well in the hands of an idiot. The world learned that the hard way in 2016. That said, it may indeed actually be a completely unworkably stupid idea to have a "rankless" military structure. But claiming that it's stupid solely because a few dipshits couldn't make it work, is sort of like saying Art can never be truly good because toddlers can only smear paint everywhere.

I still think the most important show to have a vague idea of what is happening during this time is Rebels. If you watched Rebels (and they don't break their own Canon) you will know that the first season of Andor will not have any big Rebellion in it at all as the Rebel Alliance first formed around 2-3 BBY (don't know when exactly Season 3 of Rebels takes place) while the first season of Andor is confirmed to only cover the first year (5BBY) In addition it was also the first time I saw these code-cylinders being used and there are at least a few World-Building lines that aline with Rebels already (like the trouble on Ryloth and the Mortis-Paintings inside the antique-shop)

Did I see Mandalorian armor sitting on the table when he was showing artifacts? Star Wars Oceans 11 is what we have here..

Good reaction vid and very cool episode. It was good to see that Lieutenant Meero came from the Enforcement branch of ISB. The branches were: Surveillance, Investigations, Internal Affairs, Interrogation, Re-education, and Enforcement. That helps to explain why she comes off as she does. She gets things done.

I think the logic behind putting Cassian in the group is that he's not only clever, but probably more importantly, has experience getting into Imperial bases and impersonating officers. One of the group said they needed an extra uniform from the Imperial insider, so I imagine that's the part he's going to play. Get into the facility, blend in and assimilate with the Imperials, hijack the freighter and get everyone out of there when the meteor shower comes.

"It's a space Ak-47." I wonder if every "I'm so clever" reactor who makes a similar comment also says "It's a space Mauser" when Han Solo draws his blaster.

i'd say a lot more people recognize an ak-47. and han's gun has a heavily modified silhouette, unlike the one in this show

These slow burn episodes may not be the most exciting things to watch but they are very necessary to make the action more impactful. This show is very good.

Sky blue crystal you say? blue like the girls eyes; perhaps?!? Also, a part of me thinks the IBS luitenant is also the daughter of Skargards character and is either playing the other end of the espionage (Trying to assist her father) or has defected him and is trting to root him out because she opposes his beliefs... Cannot wait for the next episode and your reaction!

This show has broken the Star Wars streak of mother/maternal figure dead or dying when the character returns home. Try-Hard Trent's mama lives! Aunt Beru - killed by Stormtroopers when Luke goes home Breha Organa - killed by the Death Star when Leia returns to Alderaan Shmi Skywalker - killed by Tuskens when Anakin returns to Tatooine But not Mama Try-Hard! The unkillable!

Bail was my first thought too but then he’s been there since the Republic started to fall apart so it’s more likely he was one of the founding members of “the circle”.

pause at 29.15 during episode the Kalikori; a Twi'kel totem , Starkillers force unleashed sith stalker Armor helmet 29.57 The same type of hand paintings that's given to Ezra in Rebels by the wolves .. Probably from a different Jedi temple It definitely has a hand in the middle of it with same type of lines and star chart

I flipping love this show. This is the actual scary empire. Not an old evil wizard, not a goth cyborg with a laser sword.

The series has really made me appreciate how much the sound of TIE engines must have partially been to play mind games. They sound so menacing/scary!
