Body Language has probably the most amazingly produced songs ever by Kylie, Slow, Chocolate, Red Booded Woman. Back at that time, people wanted basic dance pop from her, so this album was kinda overlooked.

Kylie has once said that Slow is her favorite song out of her discography. Every tour theres a new version of slow and they always slap Commercially this album is one of her more successfull projects due to Kylie reaching her peak popularity with Fever in 2001. Singles were Slow, Red Blooded Woman and Chocolate, they did well in UK and Australia, slow was a number one hit. However they werent as big as the fever singles and this album didnt reach success expected after Fever, so she became kind of a one hit/album wonder in the USA though her debut was successfull too.

Kylie's had ok charts in the US.... 2020s DISCO went number #26 on Billboard 200 and #1 on US dance album charts. 💯 Her numbers in the US are not bad at all.

One of my favorite album from her. Slow is my n°1 jam, addictive, first time I heard the song the instrumental reminded me of some retro video games sound. Loving Days is also one my fave, wish it was a single.

This is my favourite Kylie Minogue album along with Impossible Princess (and edit, 1994 Kylie Minogue, I always forget to mention because I guess it goes without saying). She's so smooth and sexy, I wish she'd lean into this sound again. Physical singles were still plentiful in this era, and wow there was some b-sides that should have been on the album. I'll link some when I have time to find them. The video for Slow makes you think the song should've been called Slow & Steamy.

I should really say her Kylie Minogue album before Impossible Princess is also a favourite. It was technically her first album where she was in control of the production, It had that M People northern soul and gay house sound. Impossible Princess had a touch of an identity crisis, she made some songs to satisfy for singles that don't hit as well as where she was reveailing what music she liked and being personal. They're luckily in the beginning after the great Breathe opener. IT was a year before Madonna's Ray of Light, but had that same sound.

I'll be in the minority and say I love "I Feel For You". I find the production really interesting in how it mixes really smooth and organic elements with very contrasting harder sounds. It's on the verge of being too experimental but gets the balance just right for me. Having said that, it's obviously not my favorite with songs like Slow, Chocolate and Loving Days in there. It's just a fun little left-field departure in the album that somehow still fits in imo. Having said that, every Kylie fan has their own Body Language playlist where they replace a few of the album tracks with some of the really stellar material that didn't make the album. So if you want to make your own version of the album (and remove I Feel For You and After Dark) pick and choose from the following b-sides/bonus tracks: - Slow Motion - Almost A Lover - City Games - You Make Me Feel - Cruise Control - Soul On Fire

You have excellent taste. I would replace After Dark with the After Dark Tour Version which is much funkier. I actually used most of the songs you mentioned when I was getting into character for my Night Game performance art piece. Almost A Lover is amazing.

@@justjarod7440 the album sold 66k the week it peaked at no6, which is actually a pretty respectable sale. Her 5th best opening week's sales after Fever, Ultimate Kylie, X, and Aphrodite....and if I remember right, there was only a cd - definately no vinyl and I'm pretty sure there was no cassette. It was radio 1s album of the week and Kylie was on the Jo Whiley show every day where they played a different album track; there was the money can't buy concert shown on Saturday night prime time tv; Slow had been no1 and we'll promoted, so it did seem disappointing that it missed the top 5. Ended up with sales over 400k in the UK though.

"Body Language" was created as the "Afterparty" phase of the previous two albums "Light Years" and "Fever". "Body Language" is the first of Kylie's albums I ever purchased after "Slow" charted and became a hit. In the States, "Slow" reached #1 US Billboard Dance Club Song, #7 US Billboard Dance/Mixshow Airplay, #35 US Billboard Mainstream Top 40 & #91 US Billboard Hot 100. The album expanded her expression by venturing into 1980's Synth-Funk, Synth-pop, Rhythm & Blues and Hip-Hop influences. The hit singles from the album are "Slow", "Red Blooded Woman" and "Chocolate." All three have marvelous music videos! There is no other album by her or anyone else while quite like it! It still stands as my favourite Kylie, tied with "Kylie Minogue (1994)" and "Aphordite" and "Disco", thus far. "Loving Days" is my favourite album track. I also love "After Dark", "Cruise Control" and "You Make Me Feel", the latter two being the bonus tracks.

The remixes to Red Blooded Woman (Narcotic Thrust remix) and Slow (Chemical Brothers remix and Medicine 8 remix) are bangers. The song Cruise Control is way better than some of the lackluster tracks, but left off of the album (was the B-side to Red Blooded Woman) - worth a listen!
