In Europe this is one of the most famous duets ever. It was a big hit here because it was so different, so haunting. A very important step in her career. Nick Cave became her friend and a mentor. He told her she should go back to pure pop music.

Kylie tells a funny story, she said that when Nick Cave tells you that he thinks that you should cheer up and do something light hearted. Nick Cave makes very morose music so if he thinks you've got to cheer up then you need to give yourself a shake and go back to pop music. 😂😂❤❤

Yes, it's almost hard to imagine someone hasn't heard it. 😄 But Kylie is huge in Europe. I'm glad she introduced more people, me included, to Nick Cave.

Nick and Kylie are actually very good friends. There's a live version of this song "live at Koko". The chemistry between them is palpable. Could be a good reaction vid. Nick is an incredible artist. I'm about to see him perform in April for the fourth time. It's honestly like a religious experience seeing him live. I would love to see Kylie in Vegas. All the videos I'm seen, it just looks magical and she's in possibly the best place in her career right now!

$900 for one ticket? That’s outrageous in my opinion. I really hope you get to see her at some point. It would be super cool if you got to meet her and go to one of her performances. So proud you’ve been posting these awesome reaction videos recently. You’re so cared about. Wow, the musics so soft and yet the video is so complicated and creepy. It sounds like a soundtrack that would be perfect for the tv show Pretty Little Liars.

I had goose bumps watching you watching the video. This song is from the album Murder Ballads by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. The song reached no 2 in Australia. Nick Cave is regarded as a Goth King. He had another hit with a song called Into My Arms. I would be surprised if Lana Del Ray doesn't cite him as an influence.

Cave recorded this song together with fellow Australian artist Kylie Minogue in 1995. The duet narrates the story of Elisa Day and her unnamed murderer who is also her lover. At the height of their relationship, he promises to show her the place “where the wild roses grow”.

Hahaha.. Oh my dude. Fek, you do seem exhausted. It took ya 9 minutes to get to the song and when you finished you cut straight to a montage of finding a Zella Day album and talking about that and Lana for the rest of the vid. Bahhaha.. Anyway it's worth a register when you're not so beat. Nick Cave is an enigma. His whole life has been tragic but he keeps on putting out beautiful songs. He was kicked out of a Catholic school as a kid and got in a lot of trouble. When he was 21, his father died in a head on car crash. His mother told him as she was bailing him out of a police station after he'd been charged with burglary. That kinda left him spiralling and he started to make pretty mournful music. He moved around a bit and was filming some stuff. His career was going really well and he'd found a wife and had a son. He was planning to move to LA, but his 15 year old son 'fell' from a cliff in Brighton after taking LSD. They never confirmed whether it was a suicide but the message put out by the family was pretty solemn rather than shocked. Nick had a second son who had a successful modelling career named Jethro. For the first part of his life Nick didn't have a relationship with Jethro, but then as he grew older they became closer. The kid was probably as wild as Nick at his age. He assaulted his mother in 2022 and shortly after he took his own life too.. I think this is one of the most haunting songs. Hearing it as a kid it was sinister and brave of Kylie to put her name to considering she was trying to be a pop icon. Nick convinced her to go back to singing pop music after they did the duet, but it's so interesting that she could have gone in a different direction after that extremely dark turn. Thanks for listening. It gave me chills watching you. I hope you liked it and it sounds like you're going to be able to get to the Vegas show if people keep supporting you. P.S. Have you bleached your teeth?? Lookin' good!

Couple of corrections and addenda. In beggining of the 90s Nick had two sons almost at the same time, with two different woman, one in Australia (Jethro) and one in Brazil (Luke), where he went to live with this brazilian woman, after the fell of the Berlin wall (he lived in Berlin for the most part of the 80s, what is known for his Berlin - wild as Berlin was at that time - period, where he was kind of the epithomy of the 'goth' and underground scene). Nick's father died when he was 19, and Nick was an heroin adict since his 17, addiction that he carried up until 95 - that is almost 20 years. The weird thing about that is he never appeared to be damaged or out of place, even though he was a particular character. The addiction didn't seem to do to him what it does to most people and "celebrities" we know of - you can see plenty of interviews from all those years. He stopped without interning himself, just went live in Scotland's mountains, and he met his wife Susie with whom he had two twin boys, one of them Jethro, who died on that terrible accident. It wasn't a suicide, he was left by his friend on that cliff, which is a very dangerous place (specially if it's the first time that you're takeing LSD), he was a happy kid. About his art i guess it would take another very long comment like this xD Cheers.

Thanks for the update Bruno! I live in Newtown NSW and a few years back Nick would wander about sitting on the steps of the church opposite the IGA looking contemplative. Or that was my interpretation anyway. Maybe he was just waiting for a bus. lol. I don’t know where he lives now or what he’s up to but that’s very interesting! I knew about the heroine. Thank fek ice wasn’t a thing back then I’m going to deep dive into his stuff over Xmas after reading that ❤
