We used this color in our kitchen and we love it! It's bright enough that it makes the smaller space look open, but grey enough to be an awesome neutral and it's got just enough brown to go perfect with our cognac maple cabinets.

Since I have many areas with little or no natural light(the bathroom) I needed to go with a lighter color. It's been over a year and I am still very pleased with my choice.

I painted my front hallway white duck and there is no natural light, but when I turn on my 3000K (don't use 2700K) recessed lights it looks fantastic. I have a house in the woods and all my paint colors look like sh*t in the absence of either natural light and/or decent lighting that isn't too yellow. Really high kelvin lighting (5000k) brings out the truest representation of your paint color but then it's like you are living in a target....Love your blog Kylie!

@@valeriewilkinson8256 That is super weird because North light is Blue/Gray and if anything it would make this color hang towards that tone. This is what I find even in the darkest rooms it leans to the Gray side of things. You might have a mis-tint on your hands.

One thing to keep in mind is that these videos are shot with a TON of light, and most photos on the internet are of rooms with a ton of natural light. In other lighting conditions, White Duck can come off very yellow-brown. You've been warned! lol

This is so true! I shoot with a lot of white to try and get a 'somewhat' unfiltered look at colours, but your exposure, light bulbs and other interior conditions can absolutely affect how a paint colour looks!

I just painted my whole house white duck and it is absolutely perfect! I tried pale oak first and it ended up looking lavender/gray, then I tried creamy and it was too light and yellow. I repainted with white duck and it is the most beautiful neutral that goes with all of my furnishing

Now, one of my local faves, Ronei Faganello uses Pure White as her backdrop as it doesn't interfere with any of the paintings and sets a simple backdrop. I do worry a BIT about your suggestions, just that they could potentially clash with some of your art, depending on the colours you use, of course ;).

We are using white duck, alabaster and pure white in the main parts of our home. We are getting “fantasy brown” countertops in our kitchen and are deciding cabinet colors and walls for the kitchen. We are thinking pure white for the top cabinets and something darker for the bottom. I love a green undertone btw! Suggestions?! Please and thanks!!

Painted a 500 Sq ft room in White Duck and it is my new favorite white! Soft, yet crisp..cozy and fresh. I have kind of honey cabinets, brown granite fireplace tiles and darker gray carpet and it suits everything. Was going to originally go with Shoji white but it was too beigy.

@@cw9285Short answer: LOVE IT! Long answer: I was going for a warm cozy vibe with our kitchen. We have already had 10' ceilings, marble look porcelain floors, & 5 recessed lights. We added under cabinet lighting, two pendants over the peninsula, 1 sconce over sink window, 2 sconces over open shelving, and a chandelier with more lighting in the adjacent dining space. Also, our backsplash tile is Cloe in white multicolor. Light bulb choice was a LOT of trial and error (many hardware store trips/online orders) but went with Natural White 4000K bulbs. All that together helps it read warm but not creamy yellow. Hope this helps!

Waaaaoooow, I like the sounds of this! Iron Ore is tricky and can flash some interesting cool undertones. If if feels off, take a look at SW Urbane Bronze too :).

I’m painting this color right now after using natural choice which turned my whole house green. It has been a nightmare. So now I’m starting to see blue as I’m painting white Duck and I’m scared the whole house will be a blue color like what happened with the natural choice. I still have a whole stairway to do which is green right now because of the natural choice. So should I paint the stairway a different color and leave the living room this color? This cost me over $1000 now we had people here painting we had to use walk boards and big tall ladders and now we have to hire them back to do it again and I don’t want to make a big mistake again. I just don’t know what to do I bought all the paint already the paint store said it would not happen with this color that it had no green in it but I never thought everything would start turning blue.

I have north facing kitchen and livingroom. The livingroom casts a green from the trees and grass and the kitchen casts a pink tone because of siding is a red tone😮 The kitchen has ginger colored cabinets so I'm really in a pickle to pick a color that neutralizes everything.

Hi Kylie- I've just found your channel and it has been very helpful in trying to fine the perfect, neutral, warm white. When making my selections on my new build home I went with Shoji White. (Hasn't been painted yet) I know it's very similar to White Duck. Can you tell me what the difference is between the two? It seems like White Duck gets more attention on the interwebs :) The trim will be SW pure white. Northern exposure for most large areas of the home. Wondering if i should switch to White Duck, or if they're close enough it wouldn't make much of a difference. Thanks!

YES! I'm so glad you asked. These are very similiar, but guess what the weee minor difference is? Shoji has a wink o' green in it. If this makes sense with your finishes and what you love, you're set, but i BET it might sway ou to White Duck! And yes, it's fab with Pure White :). I'd love to see it all done!

Hi there! I’m a little confused. Jacob Owens (KZbinr from Jacob Owens Designs) says that white duck has green undertones. But I have heard others say red and yellow. And on the can it says the additives are magenta and umber which, to me, would indicate a red undertone. My head is swimming. Is there a hard fast answer to this or is it just based off of what each viewer sees?

Just painted a daylight basement hallway and bedroom located on back side of house with windows on the south. I am very disappointed as it is so yellow looking to me. I've seen in a friends house who painted it throughout first floor, and I love the grey beige look to it. I am really struggling to find something else that will work. I really hate the yellow look. there is a half bath and laundry room painted a warm grey blue so the cool is probably making it even more yellow. It does not pair well w/these rooms. In addition, the upstairs and front entry are a misty grey and since it's all connected this just looks like yellow duck in the midst of my cooler colors. eeps. anyone have any suggestions?

I painted sample of Shoji white (which I absolutely love) to watch throughout the different lighting. Was looking at reviews for Toque white, incredible white and eider white. I sure do appreciate your reviews and have made choices based on them on previous remodel projects. Thank you!

Nope! They are both warm, passive neutrals, but they are different with depth and backdrop colour with White Duck having a creamier backdrop.
