Great video, I felt like I was on the scooter. Very clear. Quite a difference in the speedometer vs gps. Good comparison to the speed / handling of the CB400 motorcycle. I've had motorcycles in the past and my 2005 Kymco Grandvista 250 4 years. I also found your roads / scenery interesting to watch.

Hi Fred, Not sure why I couldn't reply to your comment. For your question, the Downtown 350i rider seat is shaped more anatomically to the buttock. So I could say it should be more comfortable for longer rider. So far I haven't done any ride longer than 50km straight so couldn't give you an accurate assessment on touring comfort. Unless you're shorter than 165cm or taller than 185cm then perhaps this bike may not suit you.

Hi SG Part one of your review was great. In part two, i think you did a very carefully break-in, so the bike needs now more kms to come loose. But this is great for a long engine life. Q: how is the sitting position in combination with the arm positions on a long ride, i.e. 200 to 300 kms Do you get low back problems of sore arms and schoulders? My back is the problem on longer trips om my SYM EVO 200i. Again, great reviews and i am awaiting of part 3! :)

He did not do a "break in". He said he had already done that and this video was the =Acceleration and Speed test. Obviously. You don't do such high speeds when breaking in an engine.

Maxi scooters are for getting out on the weekend and enjoying the open road. I don't care too much about top speed and I only care about acceleration when I need to pass someone. I want comfort so I can ride all day at the speed limit which in Australia is 110km/h. I want ABS and traction control for safe stopping and better control on wet, oily, slippery roads. In a maxi-scooter I think cruise control should also be included as I am going to want to ride for along time and a long distance - I only want to stop to refuel not because I have a sore right hand. I want an engine with plenty of torque so that when I come to a hill I can keep riding at a constant speed knowing the engine and transmission will cope. An adjustable screen that can be raised/lowered while I ride so that if I come into a town and I have to slow down I get some good airflow but I can put the screen back up when I'm riding at high speed outside the town. I have a Suzuki Burgman 650 Executive which does most of those things. Mine is about 10 years old so it does not have cruise control or traction control but I hope any new model being planned included them. I think the Yamaha T Max 550 has cruise control. The bike you're riding seems adequate for what you're doing - I thought I saw you lived in Singapore so I don't suppose there are lots of open spaces or big distances between places like there are in Australia.

Great review, thank you so much! What about riding with a passenger? Could you share some more detailed thoughts about this? I want to ride it with my girlfriend as a passenger, she is 175 cm tall and about 70 kg. Together we are about 145 kg. Right now I have Honda SH150i and when riding it outside of town it is a bit too slow, overtakes are almost impossible, when she is riding with me. Looking forward to your review. By the way, could you give us a link for your mobile phone mount, which you are using? It looks cool!

I wonder if your results would improve by putting your feet forward and lowering your height slightly. You sound as if you are experiencing a lot of buffering. I believe also an after market screen a tad taller might also help.

Hi, thanks for part 2. I expected this one would be a little faster topspeed and acc, than the dt300? probably when you drove it a little longer after 2000 km`s? Do you know already something about the fuel consumption, compared with the dt300? Or add it later when you know. Gr Marcel

mar Velde I've just past the 1000km mark when performing the speed test. Perhaps it might go faster if my testing runway is longer since it is only 2km stretch of road. Kymco did tune the engine for Downtown 350i to give more low end rpm torque, hence not sure if that is affecting the top speed. Let you know my fuel consumption later.

mar Velde My average consumption is 25.5 Liter/km after riding for 1 month. Hopefully that will improve further as the engine becomes more seasoned.

hi bro, can i know about the engine sound, is it sound quieter and smoother than downtown 200? my height 1.65 m,is this scooter to high for me and is it possible for me lean against the backrest while scooting?

Thanks for the review, I'm thinking about buying the new downtown. It looks like it has more leg room than the older model. How comfortable is it on a long ride? I'm a 185cm and I found the old Downtown 300i a little cramped when I sat on one.

kero64 Just a little more leg room only compared with the previous generation. I'm 172cm so plenty of room for me. But for your height, I'm not so sure thou.

SGscooterGuy Turns out the seat is fine for my height, got one last week. Love it so far although I've only got to do one decent on it. I think I might need to find a taller windshield though, I'm getting pummeled once I hit about 80 kmh

Thanks for the Great Video, your video has everything in it that I want to see in a video, I really appreciate that you don't cover up the sounds of the bike with any music. Great job!!!I really Like the looks and features of that DT 350, I like the light weight, good power to weight ratio, the problem is it's Not available in US yet. I also like the New Kymco K50 550cc alum. frame Tmax replica. that will be awhile before I see them in US, if ever. Have fun and Be safe.

i can't get over how ugly kymco scooters are, other than their xciting range, the rest are just so hideous, very awkward curves on their bikes, this new 350 has nice headlights and mirrors but that's all. i will probably still go with piaggio x10 350
