You did a nice job except for one thing. You did not flush the old coolant the proper way. When you fill the system with distilled water and then run the engine you have to wait untill the engine reaches higher temperature so as the thermostat opens. Only then you can drain the full system. Otherwise old coolant is trapped in the system and the thermostat blocks it from leaving the tubes. Keep uploading!

A nice video, showing where everything is located and how to get to it. However, he should have opened the bleed screw while he had the drain screw open. That may have allowed otherwise trapped coolant to come out. Think of how you drain the plumbing in your house. You open a valve at the lowest level but you also have to open a tap at the highest level. It's a matter of geometry and air pressure.

radiator and engine 1.12L reserve tank 0.3L total 1.42L - for kymco gt 300... also one tip, first take off drain bolt, and only then open radiator cap, it's less messy

Thank you for the video, is the screw for the air in the same position for the downtown 300i?

I confirm it is

ID4nkOI I’m just getting ready to do mine, I too have the DT300i. How was the process? How do you get rid of air and n the system? Also which coolant did you use? Kymco recommends their own Kymco coolant but I’m in US and can’t get that. Thanks a lot! Hope you respond, I haven’t been able to find much info.
@ID4nkOI4 жыл бұрын
@@nemanjatosovic just remove the screw and fill the fluid from the radiator. Then stop it after the fluid comes out from where was the screw. Start the engine and don't put the radiator cap, you will see the remaining air slowly coming out. That's all!

I wish they would invent a better crankshaft rod bearing for these scooters because they don't seem to hold up very well even if you change your oil every 600mi, that crankshaft runs for about $400 plus engine gasket kit.
@lard18926 жыл бұрын
Honda type II coolant for cars is the same and cheaper. It's good to see you maintain scooter but Kymco's maintenance schedule is overkill to the max. A spark plug will last longer than 6000 miles...coolant lasts longer than 6000 miles ...

piston replacement for kymco please video, im willing to pay

Pretty sure piston replacement is beyond basic maintenance. His bike only has a couple thousand miles. Hopefully the piston is still good. SMH.

anyone has service manual for new kymco people 300i abs e4/e5 noodoe also known as kymco shadow 300??? i would be immensely grateful, possibly even generous towards that person! PS: i already have service manual 400-ish pages for gt300i and it's 90% same, but some things are different..

I wouldn't add distilled water on its own. You diluted the whole system with water doing that. When you add the new coolant, the water is not out of the system as demonstrated even by the fact that green coolant started coming out of the bleeder screw. Also the thermostat was closed that no real circulation is happening. Not the end of the world either way but what I do is I just drain the radiator and the expansion tank and that is sufficient. Then a year or two later I drain and refill the same way. Rarely do I open the block screw on my Honda Elite 110. Lasted 7 yrs and 30000 miles so far.

dude i am sorry but you dont know what you are doing, so you shouldnt film tutorials and give ppl false info, there are at least 3 major mistakes that you did, so you basically end up mixing old and new coolant witch is far worse than leaving old coolant in... btw your 'old' coolant was so clear and nicely colored so it hardly need changing at all; you can leave original coolant for at least 5 years, even 7-10 except if you live in siberia or sahara
