Not shure if it was the same unit but some kyos have a fuser pressure releases mechanism wich makes it hard to put the new fuser in. You can cheat the mechanism by turning on the printer with no fuser installed and rear cover open (whatch for a cam movement). Afterwards the new fuser fits in pretty easily. Cheers from Hamburg.

I replaced a FS-4100 fuser last week and didn't take half the shit you took off. I took off the back covers and the rear guide to get to the fuser. I didn't need to take off the drum, top cover, etc.

Use a flat head and press down on the left side of the grey clip and then slide it forward.

How do you get the black transfer roller out?

On top of the transfer roller there is a black guide, slide it to the right and it will come out. Next, take a flat head and lift both ends of the transfer roller up and out.

It’s either the print head open shut actuator is stuck. Check the top open close cover to make sure it’s properly engaging the print head actuator. If that’s not it, the developer clutch may be bad. Just replace it.

​@@mikidjuka5446 Remove the top cover and look to the right of the machine where the top cover hinge would connect to the machine. You will see a small black plastic flap that can be moved back and forth, this gets stuck sometimes and needs lube. If it's moving okay you may need to replace the developer clutch. You absolutely do not need to remove the top or the developer or the back deflector plate to replace a fuser. It is beyond pointless and unnecessary.

Shit printers. Absolute junk. All that to replace a fuser. Most other printers just slide out the back with a lever or a couple of screws.
