Michael defeated Kurosawa, Midori, and Hashizume at that tournament. 3 guys from Japan IN JAPAN. But Shokei was unstoppable at the 4th World Open. Osu!

Historical fight! The video has been nicely cut however - "new extension has been allowed", then that nice little montage cuts out a further extension until Matsui is able to drop an exhausted Thompson with a Jordan Mawashi. The fight wasn't exactly according to the rule book as Thompson should have won on weight, but great for the spectator, taking it to the very end.

For what I saw, it should have been decided earlier, Matsui connected a lot more than Thompson, with better tech..., so no Weight should have been needed, Matsui, the best, Thompson, one of the greatests, nice fight. Just my opinion.

For the final ANDY HUG and MATSUI, for me Andy is better fighter and one of the most all time powerful Kyokushin karateka, the blue eyes Samurai. OSU

It is probably racist of me but Michael Thompson looks like the Ali of Kyoshin: black, beautiful and dances! Matsui though far shorter was a beast! Tyson! And, wow, attacking for more of the time than Michael (why do I feel inclinded to call the latter by his first name but the former by his famly name?) That final kick! Wow. Beautiful match. Respect (for both)!
