Nice testing Mikael! I hate it when a wheel comes off! That is some gorgeous countryside!👍😊

ThNks, Jeremy. Yeah, well, this time I had myself to blame. Had it out for a bash one day before this speed test, and didn’t tighten the wheel nuts afterwards ☺️

Great video Mikael! My personal favorite is the 4WD RC car of the two, pretty zippy! Also, great country land, it looks amazing! :)

Yeah, love the DBX VE. Not the highest top speed with the 2800 KV and off road gearing, but so fun to run, even on grass, with the good torque and acceleration. My first choice too ☺️ Thanks a lot for watching, bro.

Great to see the 2 buggies out for a testing Mikael! Both are lovely RC's, but I think I prefer the Kyosho, it looks mean! Fun to see the ice tyres on the grass - no grip but cool to watch! All the best my friend, thumbs up and have a lovely weekend :) PS thanks for the MPH conversion! :)
@NordicRC5 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Mark. The Kyosho is really becomming more and more a favorite runner. Don’t know about the HPI. He he, yeah, like running on ice with those paddle tires on grass ☺️ And yeah, I better remember the mph when I am known to be a little grumpy when there is no kph 😂

Good speed tests! Both of these look like a lot of fun

Yeah, though for me, the Kyosho 4WD wins easily. Never really gotten used to the HPI. Thanks for watching, Michael.

Nice video, the EC5 connectors are nice, Sand tires on grass your correct like ice!

Thanks, Steve. Yeah, exactely, especially these with a long distance between the paddles. The Grasshopper tires tend to do better.

Hi Mikael. Great vid. Nice to see your Firestorm out and about. Don't know much about the Kyosho but looks cool. Those HPI hubs are good but like you have found they are not so useful if you have other brands of wheels. I have converted some Traxxas wheels to fit on it by running a drill through to allow for the bump. Would recommend the HPI Ground Assault tyres for most surfaces. Those Sand Thrower tyres are pretty good in mud but your ones look very worn out. I'd recommend trying 3s lipo but maybe not the high gear ratio as you know what happened to mine!

Hi Pete! Thanks! The Kyosho is one of my favorite runners. Just love it. Still don’t know what to think about the Firestorm though. Maybe it’s the tires that keep me from having fun. I have a couple of other HPI hex’s without the round middle. Hope they will work. Yeah, the Sand Throwers are a little worn, but I think I have another set a little less worn. But really need to try out some other tires. I’m actually not sure what the stock gearing is and I only have this 22T pinion for it (as far as I know). I will try it out on 3S ... But I think I will let it cool down a lot. Uhh, yeah, remember that run. If I burn my ESC too I will dedicate the video to you 🙂

Well done as always..Two soon to be classic rigs for sure
@NordicRC5 жыл бұрын
Thanks, bro. Yeah, the E-Firestorm is already a classic I think. Haven’t personally really got used to it yet though. Think it really needs some good rear tires and then some places with open space, jumps etc., before the fun begins.

I like gool stuff I used there 4700kv 60amp brushless combo in my dirt hig I like the tires on the hpi tool kit comes thru again wow the hpi is fast
@NordicRC5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, GoolRC usually delivers. Also got a 3900 kv 60A combo, and never had a problem with it. Yeah, the E-Firestorm Flux is quick. Maybe even a bit too quick for a 2WD and my driving capabilities :-) With bigger tires it will probably go beyond 70 kph, even on a 2S.

Nice pair of buggies, with huge battery power. The Kyosho is a nice runner, the firestorm class grass drifter :-)
@NordicRC5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, 5000 mah and 60C really gave them some spark. Yeah, ha ha, the tires I got for the Firestorm, aren’t really helping me both on tarmac or grass. Need to find some dirt for it, or other hex adaptors and rear tires/wheels.

Hi Mikael. Have you tried any of your Blitzer wheels on your Firestorm ?
@NordicRC5 жыл бұрын
Hi Derek. No, need to fit some other wheel hex’s before any of my other wheels will fit. But when I do, it might be a good idea. I still have a couple of Blitzer wheels fitted with some tires. Pro-line and Tamiya. What do you use for yours?
@hollyhillrc5 жыл бұрын
@@NordicRC Hi Mikael. I have HPI wheels and Hpi Ground Assault tyres on mine. That's what it came with when it was released. They are good and seem very durable. I actually got my Firestorm running again recently after two years of its life on top of a cupboard. I made a simple video of it running up and down a track in Holly Hill when I was testing it. I will upload it today so you can see it. 👍👍
@NordicRC5 жыл бұрын
Nice! Yeah, think I need to get those stock Assault tires. Many seem to like them. Hmm, or maybe not. Just received a box from Tamico so the RC budget is spend right now. Well, some day. And great, looking forward to the video. I so much more like the looks of your Firestorm than mine (the body... one more thing I need to replace on mine).

I did not know EC5 until another youtuber recommend it, I have it now on my new ruslter vxl and I am not going back. If I may, on the video, your suspension setup on the Kyosho looks a bit too "bouncy" for the grass. Otherwise great video, as usual ;)
@NordicRC5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, my first try with them. All these XT60, EC3, EC5 are really the way to go. They can take higher current, much easier to connect/disconnect, better protected inside the plastic and with a hot enough solder iron they are ten times easier to solder than deans etc. I found that the EC5 can even be soldered without heat shrink tubes. Uhh, yeah, the worst about the tuning of the Kyosho, is the too loose diffs and the too soft dampening. I did add heavy grease to the center diff, but need to do the same with the rear/front diff and then heavier oil. If you look closely, when turning sharply, it actually lifts one of the front wheels and it takes all the power and balloons. Not ideal, but I got too many cars that need fine tuning at the moment 😂 Hope I will get to the Kyosho some day and try some things

What tires are best for grass?
