@@JB3RC I come from 1/10th and 1/8th scale off road and some onroad stuff love all the upgrades you can do with this but will start with basic stock minimum upgrades until i learn more about this. As for track we have a club here they race every other weekend but will probably buy a mini 96 for my house to practice and test.

Good tips, I made all those changes except for the servo gear, and my car worked great. It is really all a beginning racer or basher would need to do. I couldn't help myself and started adding a lot of aluminum and carbon bling. For my driving skill level, I don't notice a huge speed difference, although I used to have a lot of the mm stock plastic rear motor pods crack, so the aluminum parts added durability. Next in line for a beginner after what you have mentioned would be 64 pitch diff in my opinion. Keep up the great mini z videos!
@JB3RC7 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I understand about the upgrades, its addicting! Now I just keep building cars (new PN2.5 building coming very soon!) I completely agree that a ball diff with 64p gearing would be next up. Some of the additional upgrades depend on what restrictions there are for stock class racing. Locally that is about all you can do to a stock car before you get bumped to a mod class. Happy New Year!

Just started mini z racing at my LHS. Very good info although I got an AWD car so rules state the tires I can use but it’s still a blast.

I've found at our club track that super soft radials on the rear and soft slicks on the front work best for my set up and I think that's what most guys are running

One of the best upgrades is the optional differential. Its made from alu. No crappy plastic anymore. You can tune the diff on your own style of driving. Smooth of agressive. It cost a lilbit more but its worth the money. Allso the car drives way more better. A smooth roll is one of the best things.
@JB3RC5 жыл бұрын
100% agree ball diff is definitely a great upgrade, but would would knock you out of a stock class. At least our club doesn't allow a ball diff in stock class.

Kyosho has updated some of their cars. They now have the MR03 EVO kits out and PN has updated their 3500kv stock motor and the V3 is very strong. Tires and other part offerings are still pretty similar.

Great video dude. I really enjoyed it and learned a ton.
That is for this video, I'm just getting into this hobby. I'm going to watch some more of your videos. I need to get a good one. KYOSHO website doesnt have any in stock...any suggestions?
@JB3RC6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for checking out the videos! There are several sites I typically order from: Kenon Hobby www.kenonhobby.com ; Hobby Heroes www.hobbyheroes.com. Those are the main sites I use. Kyosho is coming out with a few new cars sometime in December so it kind of an in between time right now. eBay is also a good resource for picking up bodies or used cars and radios. The sports models or RWD models come with a radio, but the new MR03 coming out doesn’t and you have to buy one separately which can start to add up quick. Also the new mr03 doesn’t come with a receiver which is another $60. Not sure where you are but if you have a local club running mini z go check them out and start asking questions. Many clubs have sport models you can try to see how you like it before you break the bank. That’s what I did and then my wallet quickly lighter!

hello, i have a question! How much does it cost to buy these parts to replace the: front lower upper plates steering tie rod I want to buy a an epson honda: www.kenonhobby.com/Kyosho-Mini-Z-MR03S-EPSON-HSV-010-2010-Ready-Set_p_45455.html and fit this body on it: www.rcmart.com/kyosho-mzp131r-mr03nrm-honda-p-70918.html Thanks
@JB3RC6 жыл бұрын
Hello, So the ready set the is linked has a mid motor pod and the body that you linked is a RM (rear motor pod) Also the body is narrow instead of wide like it comes stock. Now the parts to convert it to narrow should come with the kit so that would just be converting the front to narrow. But you would need an RM pod to make that NSX body work. On the front of the autoscale you will see it says narrow RM. Take a look at this website to show bodies and the length/width compatible www.mini-z-guide.com/bodies.htm. As far as cost for the front end parts check Kyosho and PN Racing site for parts.
