Hey Wade, the initial wait to get it to start was well worth it! I’m glad you filmed the whole process, it is definitely a lot more exciting than electric 1/10s 👍 She seems to have the reserve power to go even faster too, but I totally understand that you do not want to damage the engine. Maybe add a temperature sensor with a piezo buzzer that will whistle as soon as it detects the set temperature threshold.
@wadeskelton75855 ай бұрын
Thanks T let’s work on this temperature sensor man I think that’d be nice to have! If you could dial in whatever max temp limit then it could close a little inline valve between your fuel tank & your carb maybe to save you from running too hot??

BIG LIKE!!! It's hard not to really like old Skool 1/8 scale nitro buggies... thanks for going to the trouble Wade. Loved seeing it go.

Thank you Jason I’m glad you enjoyed it - if only we could ever see it rip around the castle hills track 😌 though I don’t think it’d survive even a single jump 😄

Great Nitro Wade, the starting procedure is always a bit tense, I am the same when not filming, or filming. Goes to show the commitment and understanding of these Nitro's is part of the interest why they rock. You have done a good job there, car has loads of power, maybe bolt on some tarmac tyres if there are some that'll fit - well done dude
@wadeskelton75855 ай бұрын
I was shocked it even started again to be honest but man was I glad I decided to try and film it when it came to life - you’re right about these tires they were certainly not the best for the pavement but I’m thinking I probably won’t run this one again, might stop while I’m ahead 😉

Great to see it running and zipping around a little. There is something cool about hearing and seeing a nitro running in person, I just got tired of the mess so I have gotten rid of all but one of mine. I still have my Kyosho Ravager I can't get rid of. I had to keep one of them! Your looks and sounds great!
@wadeskelton75855 ай бұрын
Dude you aren’t joking!!! Getting all that nitro off & out of everything is a PITA - nothing better than finding out a week or two later your nitro’s exhaust pipe is dripping nitro goo down onto one of your other buggies on the shelf not to mention it pretty much stinks up whatever room it’s in (I kinda like the smell though) I never seen nor heard of a ravager has it been on your channel?!?
@AddamsPlayground5 ай бұрын
@@wadeskelton7585 Yeah the drips are terrible. Take one of the foam hearing protection ear plugs and plug the end of the pipe, that is what I used to do with them to keep that from happening. I don't think I ever did a video of the buggy, it is is an Ofna Ravager, it was a mid-level race buggy from the late 90s/early 2000s.

That was great! I loved how the back end broke loose a little bit. I wonder how quick that thing is opened up? Seemed like it could get it! I don't blame you for taking it easy and not wanting to flip it. That body looked nice.

Yeah man I let my friend Thomas drive it for a couple minutes and he actually let it rip - I was scared to death but damn for such a big heavy car that sucker can go!

Hey Wade, I’ve just bought one of these, needs work, I have a vanning that I’ve had since my childhood. Need to find a muffler for the presto, what engine do you have in this please, great to see it running, all the best from over the pond.
@wadeskelton75854 ай бұрын
Oh wow I’m so happy to hear from a fellow lover of these cars! The engine that’s in the Presto in this video is an OS .21 SE-B and I just used the muffler off the old engine that was in the car when I got it - seems like one that might have come off an inferno dx or something like that. I tried to find the right tuned pipe as well but they’re really hard to get hold of!!! For an unbuilt presto kit I got an OS .21 VF-BR but finding the correct exhaust header has been a pain as well - I absolutely refuse to buy an entire car just to rob the pipe & header from 😄 Hope to see your progress on KZbin!!!!

it does sound a little lean
@wadeskelton75855 ай бұрын
I think it might actually be - I didn’t see any smoke at all at idle/low speed but the screw for the low end is a pita to get to so I just left it cuz it stayed running - definitely would adjust before running again 👍👍
