【Kyoto】Gorilla⭐️ What are talking about? Gorilla visit keeper one after another.

Gorilla who come to the keeper's side one after another.
Gentarou and Kintaro often play with their zookeepers.
Momotaro is listening to something while being touched by the keeper.
It seems that only Genki doesn't like being touched like male gorillas, but when she wants food, her comes.
Genki on that day got an acorn from the keeper.
⚠️⚠️⚠️ A common question is, "Is Genki pregnant again?"
The answer is "no"
Genki has a lot of cavities because she was given a lot of fruits when she was young.
Of course, she has been treated in the past, but she can't chew food finely, so it takes time to digest and absorb.
Therefore, the gas generated during digestion makes her stomach a little bigger. ⚠️⚠️⚠️

momotaro was born at Ueno zoo in Tokyo on jul.3,2000 and came to our zoo on Oct.18,2010.
He is beautiful and handsome ,the silverback of our troop.
He is a little timid,and scared of new things.
He sometimes shows lovely behaviors that melt our hearts.
He is making efforts to be a good dad for his two sons.
⭐️ゲンキ Genki ♀(1986/6/24)
Genki was born at our zoo on Jun,24,1986.
After mating with several males without a pregnancy she found her perfect partner.Momotaro.
Now she is a loving and caring mom for her two sons.
She sometimes behaves boldly,yet she can also be sensitive.
Genki has a cute face with shining eyes.
⭐️ゲンタロウ Gentaro ♂(2011/12/21))
Gentaro was born at our zoo on Dec.21,2011,as Momotaro and Genki's first son.
Unfortunately Genki didn't have enough milk,so he was nursed by keepers for his first 10.5 months.
Now he loves his mom,and his face really looks like her.
He also loves people .
Everyone immediately agrees that he is a very adorable boy.
⭐️キンタロウ Kintaro ♂(2018/12/19)
Kintaro was born at our zoo on Dec.19,2018.
He has big bright eyes and long eyebrows.
He is growing fine ,being loved by his parents and brother.
He love to play by himself,with his father.
He is still small, but smart and strong-willed.
His cute appearance and behavior attract everyone's interest.

I don't know neither other zookeepers of gorilla group that are so close with their gorilla's, except baby gorilla's who don't get breastfeeding from their moms. In the zoo Stuttgart their is (was) a gorilla kindergarten fulll of baby and toddler gorillas who got also full attention and love care of their keepers🙂

Great look at a different piece of their life. The boys seem smitten with Miss Hina. Genki may be distrustful because I'm sure she remembers that the keepers took both of her boys soon after birth. Who knew gorillas could hold grudges. And for a minute I thought Gentaro was going to break out his famous "happy dance"!

Here is some more info from zoo's Q&A: Momo gives a signal to the keepers "Ok, you can touch me!" by putting his hands on the bars or brings his head/shoulder to the bar. On the other hand, Genki does not seek close touch with keepers. In fact, if Genki stretch her hand inside the bar and keeper touch her hand, she gets upset as if she's saying "That's not what I want! I want some food!". LOL (this is me lol!)

This is from an excerpts from zoo's Q&A section: keepers call Momo "Tarokun", other family members are called just the way they are named. We tries to talk to them whenever they are around nearby. They seem to know when we call them because they look keeper's direction. In event of trainings, we say "chest", "tummy", "shoulder" and like along with a gesture (words are all in Japanese). They seem to understand words like "come" or "wait" etc. except Kinkin. We also talk to them like "You're good boy!", "You're cute!" or "What's going on?", etc. We also scold Momo by saying "Hey!!" when he shows his food-agression. We also imitate their greeting sound like "guuuuu" and copy the laughter of Kinkin and Gentaro. (Btw, traditionally "taro" means first-born male in Japan, the second-born is called jirou, so don't know why Kinkin was named Kintaro????)

Would you just look at how relaxed Momotaro is (his face/mouth 1:47) in the presence of his favorite keeper whom no doubt soothingly talks to and closely interacts with him, and the rest of the family. Look how intensely he is listening and 100% trusts her (snacks given are a plus). Momotaro does like a good olive oil rub on his feet/hands, and having his back scratched by her ☺. These majestic creatures REALLY ARE gentle giants 😍. I'd say if they're going to be in captivity then every zoo should have an observant, caring keeper, and the opportunity for "good" stimulating human interaction such as this.
