I love how wrinkles respects her so much during that interaction. Simple solution to the chain of command: Brutus has not yet been appointed as general (however he certainly will be and it’s just a matter of paperwork so he has the authority.) and there is no current King or Queen but Pixie is ruler and just hasn’t come of age to get the title officially

Furrhermore, in my country (Belgium), the current older prince and princess (theh are now in tveir 20s) went to army training: they have to be able to command the troups (I don't know their exact position in the commanding chain). We could assume/imagine that the Queen and the King stay behind the lines because they get old and must be in security to rule the kingdom; meanwhile, the prince and princess are going on the field.

I used to have a dog named Brutus. despite being a big dog he was the gentlest of souls. I sure do miss the poor boy. at one point when we had kittens, this was later in his life, my dad heard him whining and thought "oh no it's time"(got too old and sore to stand again) NOPE! the kittens had piled on top of him and where sleeping and he did not want to wake them up. gentlest of souls.
