I live in Bishkek and there are two must-have apps for travelers here: 2gis and Yandex. 2gis is a map navigation app that you can use offline once you download the maps for your given city (it works in other cities as well). You can see routes for marshrutkas, the trolley bus, and regular buses as well as driving times and traffic (if you're connected to wifi). Yandex is a popular taxi-hailing app: essentially Uber in Russia and the rest of the former USSR. You just pay by cash when you reach your destination. Oh! And as for transport prices within the city, marshrutka rides are 10 soms and the buses cost 8 soms.

Is Kyrgyzstan only nature and culture? I like going on holiday to places which are adventure, nature and culture but keep 1 day aside for a bit of luxury relaxation, maybe a fancy hotel on a beach etc. Is there anything like that there?
@azackmatoff25705 жыл бұрын
@@weaknessstrength HI there, regarding luxury hotels, check out hotels listed on Booking.com, hotels of Bishkek or any other city of Kyrgyzstan. You can get all the info needed there.

I have studied Russian for over 2 years, and it is a difficult language, but their script is not difficult at all. There are plenty of videos and I think it would be a great tool for anyone to learn Ceryllic before traveling to USSR. This was a good and informative video. Thank you!

Great info in this video! It really reminds me of Russia when I was there a few years ago, especially some of the food and the roads haha! #firstworldtraveller #1000

Those Cyrillic letters on buses can be annoying but you're right that you can mostly have a guess at them! Any interrogation at the border? Land borders like that always a bit of fun. Most locals surprised to see foreigners too. Georgia to Armenia earlier this year I had a few dodgy looks. Biggest fear is that the minibus leaves without you on the other side cos I usually leave my backpack on the bus and just carry my day bag with valuables across through passport control. Looking forward to Ukraine videos.
@davidostrowski6797 жыл бұрын
Cian Maher no worries at the border. I had more trouble at chisinau airport, had to give my life story. They obv don't see alot of tourists! Peru to Bolivia was a fun land crossing as we also changed time zones! In the end i only did the Pripyat video In Ukraine as Kiev was a bit blah for me. But Pripyat more than made up for it!
@COMeachair7 жыл бұрын
First World Traveller yeah I guess I had a few dodgy looks in chisinau too but just played it cool and had a flight out after 10 days so they were pretty sure I wasn’t gonna do too much damage 😂 Belarus was the worst interrogation I’ve ever had at a border. Took out a magnifying glass to each passport stamp and wanted my drivers license and travel insurance and proof of money etc. Very anti tourist experience but a cool place to visit and very cheap! Yeah I’m looking forward to that border in about 6 weeks. Be my first land crossing in South America as I’ve flown between panama-Colombia- ecuador so far and I’ve a flight to Lima in Peru next Thursday. Still annoyed that PayPal blocked my payment to the tour company in Chernobyl would’ve been great to visit there earlier this year when I was already in Ukraine. Will have to go back on a dedicated trip and be better organised in future.

The visa policy of the Kyrgyz Republic sucks! Be aware that they aren’t granting visas but asking for money!!!
