This was an absolutely wonderfully laid out explanation. Short and to the point. Also, how simple and genius is it to show a slow motion of the opener! I must admit I've followed icy-veins, which told me to go Night Fae for Sepsis (which I like, but it's probably not as good as the Kyrian one, thanks to the mastery component). As others have said, a mythic or mythic+ playthrough would be 10/10!

As a person who hasn't played the game in 5 years, this was probably the most informative video I've seen in a while. A lot of the videos don't give you background of what things do/mean, and this broke it down pretty easily. Generally if there are 2 or more mobs you can sort of just shuriken storm over backstab to build combo points and if there are 3 or more mobs you can use black powder as your only finisher!

Nice video but i like more this open for a boss fight mono target : Stealth > Shadow Blades > Shadowstrike Slice and dice > Vanish > Shadowstrike > Rupture > Symbols Of Death > Shadow Dance then get up to 5 or 6 combo points, Eviscerate repeat and get your 2nd dance off instantly, it matches perfectly the timing at which you need to re-apply SnD and Rupture. Continue normal rotation and do not use Dance in your rotation if symbols are not up ! Feel free to cast your covenant ability after you pop your 1st Shadow dance 😉

On kyrian youre best bet is to get slice and dice up and then use the anima charged combo point on rupture it takes a good deal more practice and timing along with rng to line up the anima charged combo point for rupture but if you can nail it, then it is a nice dps boost it just takes a little more focus and timing to hit rupture at the 2/3 combo point that I find the anima charged combo point lands on

@@doomh5056 well, if it's a big AOE situation just come out of stealth with symbols up so your next shuriken crits on everyuthing, adding weeknes debuff. Then secret tech is actually really strong for mythic+, and then into blacl powder which does more damage when find weekness is applied. :) Not too hard. 3 targets? just open as you would and applys rupture to each one as you continue to down one target mainly.

@Frizzle Chops You don't get the passive to add find weakness with shuriken storm until like level 58 or so. For your level, follow the 3 priority, which is esentially what you're already doing. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Sub is kinda shit until max level :) but fun!

This is great info for a nice PvE set up for single target. My main issue right now though is not being a potato when it comes to trash mobs. How are you handling AoE damage and helping your team there?

Hey! I've been asked this a ton, I'm going to actually run a mythic soon tonight and record it, and do sort of a walkthrough style video for tomorrow! A good general rule though I've been advising is if there are 2+ mobs replace backstab with shuriken storm, and 3+ mobs black powder>other finishers!

Shadow dance is great to basically use every time it's available! It gives back energy with our talents and increases our damage AND lowers our energy cost with talents!

From the animations in game it appears that if you are spamming shadow strike at the start of a fight, you aren’t really auto attacking. So if auto attacks are only happening when you get into backstab mode, would it not be better to put up rupture before SnD?

Echoing Reprimand confuses me. Does it work even if you build combo points beyond the charged point, or only if you consume exactly that amount? And if the latter, how come you never consumed it in your rotation? If the former, which ability is better to use charged and what's the best way to make sure you get to exactly that point?

I have a whole video talking about the anima point but yes it's only if you exactly land on it! I wouldn't stress hitting it in the middle of fast paced CD uptime DPS, but landing it on your downtime!

All I would add, as a fellow Kyrian, is to utilize that Kyrian combo point. Getting a 7 point Evis off of 2 or 3 combo points is key. I usually use it after the first dance goes away. It's excellent filler. Also a great way to get a max SnD.

Absolutely. What I've been telling people is to not worry too much about the anima point, but if it lines up definitely shoot for the finisher right away. I think it's too RNG and unreliable to play around with the random combo points we can generate in combat.

Do it the opposite way around! You might need to use Sdance alone to sap or something, but every time you symbols you'll want to dance!

Good video as usual ! I feel kyrian reprimand is a pain in the *** to finisher on the right combo point because of auto attacks giving you random cb. Going night fae seems better because of the conduit of nya who gives you a similar boost to mastery on septis with the added bonus of a free stealth ability. The soul form is a blessing to add mobility whereas the potion from kyrian feels useless when you are backed up by a good healer. Additionnaly, going secret technique gives you a massive boost to AoE. Energy starving is indeed a problem when you go secret technique but it can he mitigated with clever use of symbol of death during shadowdance. What do you think ? Keep up the good work man, your videos are a treat ;)

Hey man! That's great feedback. I am definitely fascinated by Night Fae, i've been hearing good things about the ability but I'm loving Echoing Reprimand damage far too much right now. In terms of Secret Technique vs Master of Shadows I just feel like the single target bonus of MoS is much > than the AoE bonus of ST. That's why I choose it. Since we run enveloping shadows we have so many shadow dances that we can only use symbols every 2nd or 3rd dance! Thank you again. :)

Hey! The mastery comes from the top of your Kyrian soulbind with Pelagos. It's a default little conduit slot called Combat Meditation.

Shuriken Tornado combined with Black Powder is really strong for aoe bursts. After each Tornado, you get enough combopoints (if 5 of more mobs) to do a full 5 combopoint Black Powder, and since it does it 4 times as well then I would expect to see that somewhere in M+

It doesn't matter too much! The difference in value of dagger over slow weapon doesn't mean that much anymore. In classic and beyond is was for a higher dps and poison application. Now the only value is getting faster autos for our sub passive shadow techniques. :)

In Talents I personally run with Premeditation + Secret technique. ST is insaaaane for AOE burst in M+ and premed makes sure, that you never have to use CP on SnD because you have so much dance uptime, that your shadowstrike keeps up the SnD. You should try it out.

Secondary poison matters a bit. In order for Shiv to remove an enrage effect from an enemy you need to have Numbing Poison active.

@@dominicksimon2973 Just go into interface>addons and open up the config for it. It's pretty simple to customize. I personally disabled everything but my own abilities and moved it/rescaled it.

No need to be confused! Nowadays for subtlety it's really as simple as main hand dagger and offhand whatever you want for xmog. :)

Hey man, I was raiding last night and keeping rupture up on 2 targets, nearly the entire way through a 10 min long fight, it only did 5% of my damage... is there any point in even using it?

Multi dotting is probably going to net a small DPS increase but you could always just go for evis depending on your spec and conduit.

@@gavinhislop Single target one of your most important components is maintaining rupture, assuming the target will be alive to eat all the damage. A full rupture bleed will be much more damage than any other finisher!

As long as you open as I show in the video you can get both up extremely fast a global or two apart. In terms of maintaining you should have no problem maintaining both of them 100% uptime!
