I love your channel! Thanks so much for putting these videos out here! Currently, I’m a student double majoring in music, organ performance and theology. I sing in two choirs at the on-campus (Bellarmine University), Oratorio, and Women’s Choir, sing in my church’s choir (St Louis Bertrand), and play the organ. I also play in other parishes in the archdiocese (Louisville) when asked or needed. I belong to a rather traditional parish, run by the Dominican Order, and our music director has us sing lots of Chant. I’ve used your videos for a while now to help me match pitch, get used to reading neumes, and develop more familiarity with different Mass settings. Plus, you have a beautiful voice that brings forth the objective beauty, mystery, and sacredness behind the theology of the music. Please keep it going! I’m also a relatively new singer (mezzo-soprano), and it’s hard for me to match pitch with men, which most of the Chant content out there features male voices.

Wow, this is such a nice comment! I'm glad you've found these helpful, especially with the treble voice. Let me know if there are any chants your church's choir does a lot that I don't have; I'm always trying to identify chants that people will listen to. KImberly, Thank you, so much for these recordings with words and music shown on screen. I'm a Catholic hermit in formation to become a Consecrated Eremitic (hermit) for the Church. One of my goals is to sing the Rosary in gregorian chant each day. Have you done this yet on your site? If you could direct me to it I would be most appreciative. If not, is this something you would consider doing as it would be invaluable to my learning how to sing the rosary in gregorian chant as an important part of my daily prayer life. I have not done this! I would love to learn more from you about what this would entail -- is it any setting of the text (any melody), or do you have particular ones you want to use? I'm always open to suggestions...it might take awhile for me to get them up, but it's nice to have guidance for what people will be able to use. Let me know.

There is a breath/short pause noted (the short vertical line through the top line of the staff), which I will only take if I need them for the breath, as I generally prefer longer phrases. Some singers would make a different choice, though.
