Kyrie Irving put on a show last night, scoring 41 points in the first half and finishing with 60 in a 150-108 win over the Orlando Magic. That total marked a career-high for Kyrie and a franchise-record for the Brooklyn Nets. Some fans thought he could've gotten to 70 points or even more if head coach Steve Nash let him play for the entire fourth quarter. Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe debate whether Nash should have left Kyrie in the game or not.

It was a blowout against the second worst team in the nba. You don't go for it for 3 reasons, fatigue making it less likely to do as much anyway, injury and also the biggest one imo out of respect for your teammates, give those who don't usually get time but who have earned it more of a chance to play and also out of respect for your opponents. It's meaningless to get it in garbage time, especially against the 2nd worst team in the NBA imo. Absolutely amazing he was able to get 60 just like KAT, props to them both, Kyrie didn't need to get any more

@@dubclub30 Lol Dame has a higher career average and career higher game than Kyrie. Plus yea I’m sure if Dame was playing with LeBron he’d have a ring as well. But what was Kyrie in Cleveland before LeBron got there and what has a he been since? This wasn’t even about who was better, I was simply comparing Skips hypocrisy towards certain players.

Yea man for real. As skilled as Kyrie is I’ve never seen him consistently score 30 for a season or carry a team to the finals as the main offense and win a game one against a great team scoring 48 like Ai. I don’t think we should be saying he’s better than AI but I understand him having more handles and possibly better finishing skills making crazy layup and finishing off the glass.

if Kyrie was jacking up as many shots as Iverson he would average 30. He's a way better shooter than Iverson and can score in way more ways.

@@laneyj interesting that you say Ai was “jacking up” shots when he was the only player on his team that was a scorer. Nobody else on his team averaged more than 15 ppg. Every night he was the only player the defense worried about guarding. I will say Ai shot in the low 40% range so maybe Kyrie could have done the same numbers with a better percentage but we will never know unless Kyrie is the main guy on a team with no other great scorer like Ai dealt with. My problem is saying kyrie “hypothetically” would have done more than Ai when we will never know cuz he has a co-star

@@laneyj players in this era are better shooters of the previous Kobe and AI era, look at the center position now. We just had a Center winning the 3pt competition in the ASG, the game has evolved. But I doubt Kyrie would've scored like this back then, the game was more physical and the paint was always full of bigs. Kyrie is an amazing player -always he has been- but AI was completely another type of monster. Good luck scoring more than 30 being guarded by Kobe with Shaq waiting on you in the paint.

The reason Kyrie says Basketball ain’t everything. Is the sole reason he is this great. He plays on feathers. Lightweight. Nothing breaks him mentally. He floats. Add insane skills and pure athleticism to it and you have maybe the greatest player ever to play the game.

So for those saying he could have got to 80, Kyrie played 35 minutes. That leaves only 13 minutes to get 20 points which is a rate of 5 points every 2 minutes from when he was pulled with 8 minutes remaining which is on pace for 120 points total if someone kept it up the whole game. On top of the feat he already pulled to get to 60? Unlikely. No one plays all 48 minutes in the NBA anymore because of fatigue, risk of injury and just respect for your own teammates and the opponents, even if they're the 2nd worst team in the NBA. Also btw KAT played only 1 more minute with 36 to get his 60 and had 11 more rebounds and 1 less assist (and gotta say too Kobe got 62 points in 32 minutes played against the Mavs when he didn't go on at all in the 4th that everyone seems to forget about) just saying
