Fun fact: awhile ago the creator of the song, Iyowa, was hinting that they would possibly create a song inspired by one of the characters from Doki Doki Literature Club. Many people think it’s Sayori, who appears as a very happy-go-lucky girl but secretly suffers from crippling depression. A lot of people think this is the song he intended to create. *Spoilers for the game below:* Some other things that support this is the “mc” character appearing to hug her later in the video, which happens in one of the game cutscenes. She’s also implied to have hanged herself at the end of the video, which Sayori does in the game. The last lyric actually translates to “my heart hangs in the air”/“I’m suspended in the air”. This coupled with the glitchy imagery where only her feet are in frame and how the lyrics keep getting darker, seems to imply that she hanged herself. There’s also a possible mention to Monika. The lyrics “It’s like she said, it’s over” is very similar to what she is implied to have told Sayori during the game, as a way to convince her to commit suicide.

and the different words in the middle ish i think, they reminded me of the poem writing in ddlc. at first the sayori options were "sweet, bubbly, fun", etc, but turned darker and more melancholic as you progress, if i remember correctly ^^ i'm referring to the whole "it's a putrid repulsive thing. innocent, sweet" ALSO!! it mentions being unwilling to get out of bed, no motivation to get up and exist. sayori canonically is always late because of this, but doesn't admit it. i love details like this, it's such a great song :D

Lyrics: Jumping loud, I wail out Glancing time is, ticking down Surely, surely, staring back at me 8-oclock has waved goodbye to leave Face gone pale, I wail out Glad that everything simmers down Pink I think, the flowers blooming free Beat, the heat, enduring through the peace But surely there’s a bud that struggles yet to bloom, it’s Bound together and barely breaking Oh what a fool, a tragedy Ahh, let me freeze into a fossil Ahh, like the little flower pot I’ll Smile, there in the darkest days It’s all I ever managed anyway I’ll never banish all the loneliness If it’s discovered, what’ll happen to this? Ahh, I’m here, your neighbor waiting for you! My heart, it beats up anew Hey when, I tumble asleep And I wake up to the beat I can never retrieve A cause to leave Or to get up and be What morning me will need Is there a peace Left for me? Jumping loud, I wail out Glancing time is, ticking down Backing up I turn away to leave “See you then…” I mumble in the heat Clarity had found me First, beating joy or pretty feelings Reminiscing, sun way out of reach Passing by, these days adrift at sea, it’s Horribly hard, just managing Ahh, soon you’ll see the truth of the act Ahh, God I hope to stay in tact I’ll Smile, faking again this time All that I love will always leave my side I wish for a future so clear and bright While feeling ever more I’m being eaten alive And now, I cry but couldn’t manage to scream My heart refuses to beat Ahh, surely there’s a sky prismatic Ahh, alive and shining a pretty light I had never wanted just to run away Surely, these things all each belong in place Right, nothing more is left to do My heart, it beats up anew So, it seems, the days are closing in around me And the flowers bud that slowly withered So putrid, it’s a filthy repulsive thing Innocent, sweet Ahh, let me turn into a curse just Ahh, “Stop it and erase the burden” I cry Cause beating around my head Noise and the static sound is all that’s left I’ll never banish all the loneliness If it’s discovered, what’ll happen to this? Ahh, the girl, it seems was right as could be I’ll never see it… Ahh, I’ll find a way to keep on going Ahh, pain is never stopping or slowing Even when it’s all wasted breath Such is the penance for your loveliness You may be the kindest that I’ve ever known If I cry and hug you, I may never let go The final scene was surely that kind of dream My heart escapes in the breeze

@BokuNoKoe I'm not working yet, but the main issue is that the job opportunities are rare in general. Besides that life in Japan can be uncomfortable, since you are treated as a foreigner permanently if you aren't asian. Doesn't mean you can't make friends, just people on the street won't expect you to speak their language etc. All in all I would not recommend it unless you KNOW what you're getting into and you're ready for your life, real life entangled with Japan

This song is therapeutic for me because i think to myself "Man i'm glad that i'm not going through that" and then my problems seem lighter and easier to handle. Basically i tell myself that "others have it worse" using a song. Because just telling myself that, of course, wouldn't work.
@irchonite19532 жыл бұрын
but also, just because others have it worse doesn't mean your own pains and struggles aren't valid. You can still feel sad, anxious, tired, all of that during the best of times, even if you don't feel like you "should". Sometimes there's not even a reason to feel that way. Your feelings are so valid and important, and you deserve to be heard and cared for, and to have people to love and hug and laugh with.
