KZ ZAS Review - 16 Driver Hybrids

This is my ZSX replacement. Looking foward to get mine, nice review as usual! People are prone to bash KZ since last year flops but they are restarting and rebuilding: ZAS, DQ6, ZEX (waiting on mine too) are results of courage to try. I think ZAS was great for the new black set of BAs and better crossover, DQ6 tried something new for KZ and got it right, and ZEX seems to be an even better surprise than DQ6. I'm very happy to see their trial and error finally paying off. Cheers from Brazil.

@@alfredcazarescastro5849 I just bought MoonDrop Aria as a replacement. It's in the same price range as KZ ZAS, and has very good reviews. Also KZ products can have some little hissing problem, caused by their low impedance, so I chose MoonDrop Aria's. I'm pretty sure it will turn out good but, it will arrive in approx. 2 weeks from now on. Then I can give more feedback if you are interested.

I find them to be very tips sensitive. Out of the box with stock tips, its warm dark v shaped tuning with rolled off treble. With Spinfit Cp100, the midrange is more pronounced and the bass is a bit tighter. End up settling with Azla SednaEarfit Short since I like a little more treble extension.

Great review on this one. Recently someone asked me about the CA16 so spent some time with them. I think the ZAS and ZAX slope down from the 2k rise where the CA16 rises a bit. For me, I typically like the down slope and the CA16 does sound a bit sharper compared to those two. Despite the XUN and some good points on the ZAS, I am still a ZAX fan. CA16 is a bit different than the KZ brothers so still a fan of that one too.

Thanks very much and it's a shame I don't have the CA16 any more as I would have liked to try it against the ZAS. I remember the CA16 having a fairly smooth treble from what KZ/CCA normally did. I also need to try the ZAX properly again soon and the XUN sounds over utilised in the ZAS.

Will you review KBear Robin, a kind of Basshead IEM from KBEAR, in the future? A reviewer said Robin gives better technical performance than ZAS, smoother treble, and overall better vocals. But he said ZAS still has the best bass performance in the price range

Welp, hope you do the ZEX. Didn't have any expectarion for ZAS, they are good for mainstream music. Also, please compare the NRA and the ZEX once you have and done reviewing it. Seems that Zex has more bass per fr but dont know if it has good quality.

How do these compare to the kz as16 pro? Same amount of drivers except the as16 does not use a DD. They are the same price atm.

I found the layering better on the AS16 Pro and I think it uses newer BAs. Seems better tuned.

This if you want more bass and a slightly smoother treble. Also no BA in the nozzle in the ZAS.

I am rocking the KZ ZSN atm but I am looking to get one with more drivers. I'm a bassist and will be using it to perform. My choices atm are the ZS10 Pro, ZSX, ZAX and ZAS. Any one with experience using these on the podium and or in the studio? Thanks guys!

I don't have the CA16 any more to directly compare but they have there similarities. I like both and the CA16 is harder to power.

I got the same ones ..and out of the box ..they’re HORRENDOUS 😵‍💫 Bassheads will love them ..out of the box They needed conservatively 50 hours at high volume to sound ..OK ..but still a touch bass heavy..but it gets better…but it’s a fight. The fitting is very nice and the cable is ok . The BA’s acting in the range of the midds and highs saved this for me..otherwise an interesting bass heavy IEM’s. If you’re into edm they’re good . It’s just good ..not great and definitely not a flagship. Great review 🍻

Terrible bass . Not tight. And blured . Worked fine in same dap. More linier dap,highs a bit to much for me for the volume i play.lower volume was ok. On the phone to much bass.

The phone has more output impedance which equals even more bass lol. I didn't find these as bright as the ZAX.

@Vortex Reviews z-axis was the king of the treble . Was so much that sounded like a cheap trn iem. I think i gave more than 20 iem to friends because I did not like them.
